I don't know who the imbeciles were that gave this a thumbs down but apparently they don't know about great drumming and this is one example of great drumming! She's a beast on the drums!
You are jumping to conclusions. I didn't like this video that much but it has nothing to do with Anika's playing. It's a reaction video and I am wondering what the big takeaway is. Frankly, now I know who the sponsor of the channel is and that the guy liked Anikas playing. A few platitudes, nothing more and that's a little thin, so if I were in the business of giving thumbs down, I could do so here with good reasons.
Josh has been reacting to drum videos for a few years now. He also posts videos of him playing drums and he can play real good, too! You have every right to give whatever reaction video or ANY video a thumbs down and I have that same right to express my opinion about it. Think about it. Josh must be doing something right if he has over 100,000 subscribers so if you give it a thumbs down, that's on you. I'm glad you cleared it up but if I see someone giving a thumbs down on any video, that will make me as well as anybody else think that they didn't like the video altogether. You may not see it that way but that's what it is to ME!

That's why I did NOT give a thumbs down. I was just trying to explain the rationale behind doing so. A possible rationale, I should add, because I can only speculate about the motivations of those folks. I am not trying to be a sourpuss here.

Yea Josh I've been a fan of hers for a few months now. I could be wrong but I think her last name might be pronounced (nil' is) with a short i sound and the es pronounced like the word "is". You can check with her to be sure. She is a master of mixed meters and has a very unique style as well as her choice of unique cymbals. she's a Meinl endorsee. She is indeed a beast.

Post touring with Jeff Beck. For me these earlier youtube compositions on the Mapex kits will hold up well she was very forward in most every aspect. Ya there are and have been more savage drummers, but not many ever more analytical present.
