your thoughts on the pocket holes in a drawer are correct, always "inset" the front of a drawer into the sides as its less likely to pull off after year of opening and closing. i really your what i've learned videos. thanks for the content

I have been using a pocket hole technique I call "pocket hole toe nailing". put screws in from both sides and the opposing angles give the screws a lot more holding power. I did a video on this call "what is the strongest plywood joint" if interested. keep up the great videos :>)
As shown the drawers the pocket hole method is weak as you said. Angling the holes with the thread closer to the end of the mating joint makes them even weaker! I now make my drawers with biscuits, with the sides overlapping the front and back so the shock does not pull on the joint repeatedly. Building this way I have not had a problem even in heavy tool drawers, supporting much more than I should jam into some of these drawers. I will be building my own table saw station for my workshop rebuilding.
I made my drawers with pocket holes at the back and front of the drawers, that way the drawer front will hide the front pocket holes and no one will see the back pocket holes. Also makes the sides look clean.
Hi Andreas, pocket holes and glue is ok since is on sliders, that takes out some stress compared to drawers that rest or have direct contact with wood that add friction to the weight.
Have you considered partially enclosing your GTS10XC to get better dust collection? - I have been experimenting with strips of foam at the various gaps to try to reduce the dust that escapes the vacuum, which works reasonably well but nowhere near perfect.

Und ja, ich hatte mich gleich bei den ersten Aufnahmen mit den Taschenlöchern gewundert, warum an der Seite? Da sieht man die doch. Aber, dachte ich, sind ja Werkstattschubladen. Kommt nicht drauf an. An die Winkelbelastung ist aber sicher zu denken. Da hast du sicher recht. Aber die Schubladen fügen sich gut in den Schrank, wie wenn sie schon immer da gewesen wären.
Tja, Alfred. Leider ist mir das mit den sichtbaren Taschenlöchern auch erst später aufgefallen ;-) Aber deswegen mache ich neue Dinge gern zuerst für die Werkstatt, da ist es nicht tragisch, wenn man durch die Fehler lernen muss. Danke und beste Grüße, Andreas

So far I haven't but I’m planning on working on the dust collection situation (among other things: attach a second hose on the sawblade hood).
why not to use confirmator screws? Strong and tidy? ;)
