As a blind musician I finally figured out that you have a capo on your guitar you say such things at the beginning of your lesson so people would know thank you
Thanks so much for sharing!!! the Flamenco guitar is so exotic beautiful and unique. And your teaching approach makes playing flamenco guitar doable. Thanks again for the lesson!!!
Hi Olivier, I recorded using a Neumann TLM 103 mic into a Universal Audio 6176 channel strip. Into ProTools at 48khz, 24bit, if I remember correctly. All the best! - Diego
Good question! It's a method handed down by the Masters. I would guess that it was chosen because you often play the chord progression Dmb6, C9, Bb#11 (or Gm6) and the voicings use LH fingers 3&4 on those strings for all those chords. ie: common fingers. The bass melody line is an extension of those changes and played over those chords in a miriad of ways. This fingering allows you to play both chords and melodies simultaneously while maintaining base of the LH chord shape as you improvise.
greart player and very informative lesson...if i may .. what stings or you using in the Soloia pr bularia video please .. they are very clean and strong...i have been using Savarez Alliance normal tension or D Addario Falmenco J=25 composites but whar you are playing sound not like these 2 ...Thank you very much and Apology for typinf...
+Michael Rooney Hi Michael, I think I'm playing D'Addario Pro Arte Hard Tension (J46 I believe) I usually use those as my workhorse strings. You can put a lot of hours on them and they still tune and sound good. The guitar has a higher set up, hard tension strings, and it's just a great cypress guitar. I think all of those things contribute to the sound. Hands too. Best Wishes! - Diego
Hi Diego, is it possible to download or to have only the track with the rhythmics to be able to play with it? Thank you a lot for yours videos, I love it!
Hi Xavier. The rhythm compas track is from a series called "Solo Compas." If is by Original Future Sounds and can be found here www.solocompas.net/es/solo-compas-mp3/692-solo-compas-solea-por-bulerias.html Alternately, Dr. Compas has a good app for accompaniment. All the best! - Diego
Hi Toeknee. Yes, I have a Picado Book which breaks down the technique to address components such as speed burst, string crossing, etc. There are 6 exercises and 4 Etudes which are not stricktly flamenco but combine flamenco and classical influences. You can find it here: www.deoromusic.com/exclusive_sale/Books.html
Thanks Diego for the reply about the strings.. i got some of the j46 and they are working out well and will be getting better as i adjust to them...Best, Michael Rooney
great teaching. feeling less demotivated to learn Flamenco now. I found it hard in the beginning to adjust to not starting on beat 12 like in Bulerias.
Agreed! It's all in the wrist and thumb position on the back of the neck. Physiologically speaking some people have more rotation in the wrist which is needed for this manoeuvre. The body will adjust to the demands placed on it over time. Keep working at it. All the best.

thank you sir i always want to learn flamenco ... it is use ful
Merci beaucoup, je vais essayer doucement votre méthode.
Tuto super bien.
the most hard part is the end when you put the Pinky finger up .. cant do it .. its so hard i dont know why ..exactly at 8:41
For me it's that middle finger above the pinky+annular at 4:21. I think my hand is TOO small for that.
Luis Eduardo Casper Braschi how was you right hand right now after this months ???
hi, teacher which is the tuning of the strings?
thanks a lot
Hi Edgar. The guitar is tuned in standard tuning ❻=E, ❺=A, ❹=D, ❸=G, ❷=B, ❶=E with cejilla fret 2. All the best!
Aa , estas usando escordatura cierto?, debido a la tonalidad que usas en la frigio, cierto?,
Ya que sonoramente suena un tono más arriba, cierto?
Buenisimo el video, el flamenco música increíble , bendicioness
great teaching. feeling less demotivated to learn Flamenco now. I found it hard in the beginning to adjust to not starting on beat 12 like in Bulerias.
2:35 my hand can't bend like that!
Subscribing, but, RUclips keeps ''Undoing'' it.
Excelente. Sólo decir que los acentos están en 3,7 (en lugar del 6),8,10,12 habitualmente. Un video excelente. Gracias por compartirlo.
Hard to reach over and get that 4th fret imo

thank you for the free lessons..i was wondering if it possible to play this on the e phyrigian without the de capo on 2..
