Girte Sitaare | A documentary on sitar | Miraj

The documentary presents a delightful perspective on sitar through the lives of incredible makers of Miraj bringing life to an age-old Indian musical tradition. World wide there are only two places where sitar is made, Miraj is one of them.
There were people working in that alley who've been working since generations. There they appear by the name of 'Satarmakers'. No one would have thought that sitar could actually be made out of tumba(pumpkin). The making process of sitar is engaging and the process didn't let me move out of that place.
The people who're living along with making sitar, they treated us like their family. I never felt uncomfortable working with them as they made it so easy for us.
The value of Indian musical instruments is indispensable to Indians. However, for me too, it's importance increased during the journey.. I'll definitely visit this place again.
I haven't been able to describe the experience fully through this video. I will share with you when we meet.
