- Yup! You thought I'd given you everything I had for Pancake Day already! But NO! There is more. You guys deserve it. So this Pancake Day, or for any other day of the year which needs pancakes, get your batter on and make this EPIC Nutella Crepe Cake
Recipe -
For the crepes...
300g plain flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbsp caster sugar
6 lg eggs
900ml whole milk
butter+oil for cooking
For the ganache...
150 double cream
150g dark choc
For the cream fillings...
400g double cream
20g icing sugar
50g Nutella
extra Nutella and chopped roasted hazelnuts

the best thing about this cake is it doesnt use too much sugar
made this today on my birthday but just with wipped cream as filling and on top melting chocolate mixed with a bit of milk. it was delicious! Thank s for video

This is very similar to a Smith Island Cake from the US state of Maryland. Look it up, it’s a regional cake tourists take home with them and the good ones require to be ordered in advance.

You should sell this in the soho shop! I would love to eat this but would never make a whole cake just for myself. But, I do stop into the shop whenever I'm in Soho!
I made a vegan version of this cake with fresh coconut milk and coconut milk cream and peanut butter as an egg substitute. The latter didn't work so well, because the pancakes were too sticky and it was a lot of work to make them. For the plain cream I made a coconut-cashewnut cream. It was absolutely delicious! Even if it didn't look this good, because I didn't have so much fridge in and out time and didn't have a ganache to finish. Everyone loved it just the same!
ps: obviously no actual nutella in this recipe, but a really good local hazelnut cacau cream!

Hi, Jemma! Well, I don't think you gonna read it, but… the final cake has only 30 layers/crepes? The cake is very tall for only 30 layers, I'm saying this, because I tried you recipe and the height I got is half that you show in the video.
Another thing tells me that your cake is doubled, it's the amount the heavy cream you show is waaaay more than 200g. Yes, I know, could be just for the camera, but still. And no, I didn't measured anything wrong. :)

PratoFundo por Vitor Hugo I’m a year late and might be wrong but this may be because of the size of your crepes- a smaller circle will look taller with thirty crepes due to proportion whilst a larger one will appear shallower. But I’m not sure 🙂
Just made it now and mine is half the size of hers too. The 400g of heavy cream is supposed to be for both fillings though so it’s 200g for each one
Have you considered that her crepes may be smaller than yours? That could be the reason why her mille crepe is taller
She has far more than 30 crepes there.

Charlotte Lloyd If your pan is the right heat it should be 30-40 seconds per side, and loose enough to move around the pan. Good luck!

I grew up knowing only crepes bc my grandma was French...when I was a kid the only place to get Nutella was to make a trip to Canada now I see it in the checkout lines in little cups....I love it when food transports me to another time and place because it's always a happy memory!

Nutella Filling....
1 3/4 C double cream

I have actually made the cake (it is time consuming no doubt about that), but the outcome is more than satisfying. Had some problems with ganache, but adding more chocolate solves most of the problems usually and it did this time ^^ Thank you for the recepie Jemma :)

You can tell she's soooo professional by how clean the edge of that second layer of chocolate ganache is. And she probably didn't even use the big white plastic thing to smooth it out. Just that spatula 💕💕💕💕💕

I'm about half-way through this right now... and it is not coming out like yours at all. I don't know if it's because I'm in America and our ingredients are a bit different (like the cream and stuff) or what... But I needed to do twice the amount of crepe batter to try and achieve the height, but since the height was going to be the same I didn't add any more cream... but I seem to be running out? Also, I am having to let it set in the middle because it wants to fall to one side? And, I had to guess on the size of the crepes (I'm going with 8" based on the cake board) but perhaps they're too large and that's my issue? Kind of feeling like I'm hitting a lot of issues everywhere I turn with this one. LOL I even weighed everything instead of converting to cups to be absolutely certain I was getting it right... So I guess I will have to do some serious research into all conversions for ingredients in the US vs the UK because something is obviously not working right. I am at least hoping it tastes okay!

I am in the united states so double cream is almost impossible to find....I've read that heavy cream is not a good alternate. Anybody know what I can use in lieu of double cream?
