    Sure is a great performance and super comeback! It amazes me how clear these old recordings can be...they must have used a high quality tape machine at the Opry.

      Thanks for your comment, Rick. Yes, I am only extracting and editing Chet's performance, but there are also all the precious and wonderful songs of other singers.

    I found it interesting that the Grand Old Opry couldn't get Mother Maybelle and the Carter Sisters to come join the Opry because they insisted that Chet Atkins, their guitar player, also be included. Many session players did not want Atkins featured because they would lose work as a result. And they were right.

      I agree. "Avalon" isn't a country song, but the Opry crowd here is so happy with it. Chet was great in the 50's.
