They were extreme fun to watch! The key to them was the older guys accepting their roles, which helped the Fab Five mature much faster at that time compared to freshman now who already come in with major team touring experience before they even play a game! By the time the tournament came around, Michigan was a much better team than their seed! That was my sophomore year in college and I vividly remember their ascension to "watch out for them" status! I didn't miss a single second of their upset of #1 seed Ohio St in the Elite 8! Their game plan of allowing Jimmy Jackson attempt at having his way was brilliant! Jackson played his normal solid game, but Michigan's defensive setup cut off his penetration and passing lanes forcing Ohio St into a perimeter team which was their Achilles! Jackson needed the help, but Michigan's defense shut down everyone else!
Looking back on this it doesn't seem like a surprise because of the Fab Five but at the time this was a fairly big upset. Oklahoma State was ranked as high as 2nd that season and was considered a legit national title contender. The Fab Five was still considered a wild-card, no one knew how far they could go. This game solidified them as a powerhouse for the rest of their time together.
Yeah man, now you cooking with fire! This was my sophomore year up at Michigan and we were having a blast!!! Those were some good times for me! Thanks for the upload my dude! Keep those Fab Five days coming!!!
Byrant Reeves shouldn't of played as much as he did as a freshmen. He was lazy. Rumor has it? The team would go 7 miles out of town and would run back to the Gym. All the players ran 6 to 8 minute miles. Big Country came logging in at 13 minute miles. That's why he didn't last in the NBA. As soon as he signed that 6yr/60million dollar contract. He played 2 and a half years and retired. 😮😮😮😮😮😢😢😢😢
Eddie Sutton would preach not to jump when making a pass. Sean Sutton would Jump pass atleast once a game. Coach Sutton was known for going in the restroom at practice and taking a shot of Bourbon.. He then came out sucking on mints. 100% fact😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Randy Davis!! Billy Packer said, Randy will be a fine player at Oklahoma State. Randy was ineligible the whole season. Thats why Oklahoma State couldnt keep the record of the best field goal percentage in a game against Tulane Greenwave? The game before this sweet 16 game? Played a week before at the Omni in Atlanta Georiga. Coaches knew he didnt have the grades? Test scores or GPA?
None of Eddies guys he sent to the NBA couldn't shoot in the NBA or couldn't drive to the basket in the NBA. EDDIE WOULD TEACH PHYSICALITY IN PRACTICE? THEN HIS LOW POST PLAYER BYRON STARTED WITH GOLDEN STATE AND WOULD BE IN FOUL TROUBLE IN THE 1ST QUARTER. HE ONLY PLAYED 3 YEARS IN THE NBA?😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
thacozzman89 thank you for uploading these classic tourney games. I was wondering if maybe you had some games from the mid to late 90s. and if so, will you be uploading them? thanks
I don't know what he was thinking with that pass at the end of the game he didn't even have a thought of shooting I'm sure that was the game plan but come on son you gotta give me something better than that especially after a come back like that in the end lol great game Michigan

There's no way that Sean Sutton could of played for any other D-1 school without his dad being the coach? 100% fact.😮😮😅😅😮😅😂
Missing the NCAA tournament! Love the FAB 5 for life. Most exciting team ever!

Eddie would say, What are you doing jumping in the air and trying to pass? We don't do that here at OSU?😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 Tells us Doug Gottleib?😮😮😮😮😮😮😮

Vivica Fox making a cameo in the UPS commercial at 1:15:50 ! Young and fresh faced with her life ahead before she slammed into the wall. Lol
I thought that was Vivica! Yeah, she was super-fine back then, no question!

Oklahoma State shot 81% for the whole game against Tulane.
Big Country vs the Fab Five
Gotta love Jalen - after Houston gets in James Voskuil's face, Jalen takes up for his teammate and starts yapping right back at Houston.
Embrassing how the Fab Five was officiated comprared to other teams.
Thanks man. I will most definitely keep up the great work.
