A Halo Magnum in 10mm would be incredible, but might require stronger materials to absorb the additional forces. .50 GI would be fitting but thats a wildcat cartridge that never really took off
Daaaamn, you’re making a lotta fans happy realizing these concepts into real life. Personally a fan of the fallout pistol, can’t wait to see the final product!
For EvoMac, you could design and print a new mag follower with a "dummy round" built in to give your last round enough support on the side to allow it to feed without flipping.
I love the look of Halo weapons, I've always wanted to get my hands on a working replica and your CE magnum gets really close. Not knowing much about 3D printing myself, would printing a Halo style DMR/Battle Rifle chassis for something like a Keltec RDB or RFB be possible?
I'm working on modifying my RFB to look like the Halo Assault rifle, its supposed to have a functioning ammo counter like in the game(if I ever figure out Arduino) just finished the design for the FAL mag mod so I can get the necessary electronic components into them. up next is the Ammo counter cowl/computer box. I wish I knew how to get my printed parts to look as nice as his though.
for the vault-point maybe you could try a metallic pla for the looks. 👍🏻 Everything looks super cool, I can't wait to see it all come together. Edit: Also I've been watching Electroplating 3d print videos lately that demonstrate up to 400% increase in tensile strength on 3d prints! They paint the part in a graphite powder slurry (graphite powder and alcohol) and then use a inexpensive nickel-zinc electroplating setup on it. Seems to work amazingly well for both looks and mechanical properties like lubricity and tensile strength.
@@jakegriswold66 I watched the channel, Breaking Taps, talk about it. Although he did for sla 3d prints because of the higher resolution. From articles I read online fdm 3d prints can electroplated just as well it just takes some prep that he didn't do in his tests.
you may need a stronger spring for the halo glock, the added weight could be causing the slide not to cycle all the way. i believe the base glock spring is 18lb so try a 20lb
The magnum should be built off of a desert eagle. It looks like the gas blowback of a desert eagle, and the lore "12.7×40mm" cartridge is simply a 50Action Express as is found in the Deagle.
@@booliganshootingsports if someone made a kit I'd buy it for one of my desert eagles, but I don't have the equipment to manufacture anything other than 3D prints.
I didn't think anyone could make a Hi-Point look any worse than the factory, but my god... I applaud you though is all seriousness, and admire the craftmanship on your end.
My 3011 came out very nice. The rails you linked were perfect drop in. I print bashed a few of the files from the remixes for the dust cover. I'm a builder of MANY 1911's so I know their idiosyncrasy's. I needed minor polishing in the magazine well and you definitely need to polish the feed ramp. It cycles fine but I need to take it out to the range and test it. You might want to experiment with different springs to get it to cycle correctly when fired. I also found that not using a guide rod allowed for a touch more play that helped with the cycling.
Finally somebody who's actually going through with making a real-life version of the 10 mm pistol from Fallout. I am looking forward to seeing how it turns out
Can't wait to see the RE-45 working in flawless condition! And I also can't wait to see the test run of it! I bet I was surprising to watch that peice just soar!😆
I'm excited for the magnum. It inspired me to wait for these files and use them to try and make a .50 GI version to be "accurate" to the magnum. Amazing work man, that gun is a dream come true.
Those vmac kits came back in stock Wednesday about 5am and by the time I had money moved around to buy one at noon they were out again. Better luck in the next few months lol.
@@booliganshootingsports I know. This is the 3rd time I’ve missed the time window to get one. At this point when I can catch them I’m getting 2 so I have a spare if my friend wants to build one for himself or I can do a Mac daddy and ur evo Mac design simultaneously.
so interesting as these develop further im still seeing the original broomhandle mauser in some of them that gun was waaay ahead of its time. if only it had use removeable box mags instead of an integral magazine.
i feel like the hi point would be much easier to make look like a halo magnum given it's exceptional wideness and silvery finish but obviously it would be way less fun to shoot. good shit all around though, keep up the good work :)
I would love to have a Vault-Point. I actually bought a C9 with the similar idea for a paint-job for mine since it has the bolt-on "compensator" from HI-Pizzle. Want it to look like what a scav would pick up
That magnum is #1 on my list of things to do. I want to go as far as making my own custom holster for it. I WILL HAVE NO SHAME USING IS AS MY EDC 😂 as long as I’m running a backup
for the compensator breaking issue another solution could also be getting a suppressor length barrel that protrudes farther past the compensator and minimizes how much blast impacts the compensator.
Should make a model option to keep the trigger guard on the inside of the Halo pistol. They have made an air soft version that kept the trigger guard inside the larger trigger guard/grip and it’s pretty phenomenal.
14:47 I've been wondering if you could oversize a bore an then sleeve it with metal for a while, I'm curious how that turns out. I'd like to see someone develop a 3 d printed Colt Python in .357 mag.
Have you considered making the upper slide portion of the halo magnum integral to the frame? In the game the smartlink scope/front sight hump stays in place while the slide moves separately. If the front end is an issue this would eliminate it completely, and It likely wouldn't even need to be very rigid considering its not load bearing.
I'm loving that the mac is getting love again. I still want to find a way to get that 3011 to run a we 1911. Stupid as it sounds would an uzi bolt mod for the mac work?
As a middle aged gamer I have to say what you're doing is Awesome. Would you take a look at the "Talon" pistol in gears 5...there is no way to make the mag work but maybe use a Evo mag as well.
I want to design one that can accommodate a co2 pepperball mag as well since the mag does most the work. Any recommendations on channels to follow for research?
Don't know what the Evo mags are like, and I don't know what you've tried, but sounds like an easy thing to try right off the bat may be changing your follower geometry. If the stock follower doesn't have it, essentially adding a hump on one side like a faux cartridge to force the last round into the right spot
think you might do a vaultpoint sorta thing more based off the 10mm from New Vegas? That's the one that sticks in my head as what I think when I think 10mm pistol.
as with packing and moving houses, design projects are the same, that last 10% takes 90% of the time, and sucks the entire way. Shocked that the calico had spring issues...... keep working at it, you are doing good work.
Once the vault point is working, totally make some new printable grips for it. You could easily replace the HI point round logo with a vault-Tec inspired one. I think that would be a fun addition
Put some exhaust ports in that XD frame so the gasses can just pass through and escape. Or get a ported barrel for it so that the gases can escape up and stabilize it.
This makes me want to see a realization of the halo shotgun. The UTS-15 is similar, but it's a piece of shiz. The design of having the dual mag tube on top of the barrel with the loading door facing up toward the shooter seems super useful.
Just won a bid on gunbroker for a vmac. Any idea when that open beta may start? I was mistaken that the beta was already out. I guess I can use the mac daddy design to play around with for now.
