Professor you got a couple things wrong that I noticed :30 mins into your video.
1 . When Coatlicue was killed in the creation story , Huitzilopochtli did not come out from her head , he came out from her womb ready for battle against his family.
    2.Mictlan has 9 levels
    3. Omeyocan has 13 levels if you count the earth as the first level .

Cardinal points: In Mediaeval Europe, East was up on maps, precisely because of the sunrise.

Also it was not Coatlicues head it was Huitzilopochli’s sister who had her head cut off and throw into the sky and turned into the moon and the brothers became the stars. So the story goes the sibling where mad and angered about Quetzalcoatl feathers impregnating Coatlicue so her children wanted to kill Coatlicue so they took here up a mountain and right before they can kill her Huitzilopochli emerged from her womb in full armor and started killing the sibling that wanted to kill his mother

Indirect imperial control is more of the standard way of running an empire than anything else. The Romans did it, the British did it, the Chinese did it, the Mongols did it; and so on.

I love your lecture. One comment and suggestion: I appreciate that you are doing your best with regard to pronouncing Mexica names, but I suggest that you apologize during your teaching as to how you are pronouncing the names and indicate places where students may find a better pronunciation of the names. You are just butchering them and I don't want students to think that it is acceptable to pronounce these Mexica words so poorly. We can all do better to at least pronounce the words as most Mexicans do now even though they are likely not pronouncing the words as the Mexica would have. In any event, it would be more respectful to Mexico and Mexicans who consider this history their own.
