Walter about what inspired him to write the track;
"In January, I was walking around at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis and ran into my friend (blues singer), Teeny Tucker. I asked her how she's doing and she told me of recently losing her son, Boston. She said 'my heart is crying but my eyes are dry. I guess I've just run out of tears to cry.' I felt so bad for her and asked her if she'd like to write a song with me to honor her son's memory using those words - and my wife and I worked with her to turn it into a song about the loss and grief one feels when losing a loved one."
LYRICS:
I woke up thinkin’ that you might be comin’ home
Then I realized I’d been dreamin’ and I just laid there all alone
Every day without you, you know it feels just like a hundred years
My heart is cryin’ but my eyes are dry
And I’ve run out of tears to cry
I’m all out of tears
I’m all out of tears
So many days cryin’ you know the tears would flow
I think of how we used to be and it just hurts me so
When we were having good times, I never dreamed the end was near
My heart is cryin’ but my eyes are dry
And I’ve run out of tears to cry
I’m all out of tears
I’m all out of tears
I try to move on to tomorrow but it’s so difficult to do
I try to hide my sorrow but then I start to think of you
I know I’m broken and I know it’s so hard to face my fears
My heart is cryin’ but my eyes are dry
And I’ve run out of tears to cry
I’m all out of tears
I’m all out of tears

My father a Vietnam veteran and a musician that played guitar, taught guitar, and sold music equipment in Chicago back in the 60’s. Passed away a couple of October’s ago. It’s been hard since to pick up the sticks and play. My father taught me everything I know and taught me everything about the industry. This song has helped with all the chaos I’ve endured since his untimely passing. I miss you dad. I love you dad, I hope you’re rocking out in heaven. Save me a spot. Can’t wait to jam out and see you again.
Guitar man Trout must be from another dimension to do what he does
Trout only gets better and better. I thought Survivor Blues was his best record ever. I guess i´m wrong
My gosh, this song really hits home with me. My wonderful wife died in February and this song says it all. I need to learn this one.
Congratulations on having the number one single on BB King’s bluesville this week!
Wow!!! I can't believe I just discovered Walter Trout today when listening to the Blues station on Sirius-XM, and they played this song. I fell in love with it instantly. I just love great Blues ballads.
Same here, buddy. BB KING'S BLUESVILLE!
I am a big fan for years now, but what I wanted to say is, it is never too late, or better late than never. Great you also enjoy great blues music, just like us, welcome to the family my friend.
I discovered Trout the same way, definitely explore more of his songs you won't regret it. He's become one of my very favorites
Song of the Year: “All Out of Tears,” written by Walter Trout, Marie Trout and Teeny Tucker Congrats Walter
Grief . Universal and yet so lonely and isolating .
When he played this song live at his show in AZ, I was in the front row and it made my eyes leak. I have lost 2 wives and that was over 20 and 30 years ago now. Touched my soul and brought the memories flooding back. The release was incredible! Thanks for putting to words and music what so many of us experience......
Those 34 dislikes couldn’t begin to even understand the blues. Must be rich happy snobby folks. 😎✌🏼the blues is something you either get or ya don’t
You had to suffer to play like that and create this feeling. No substitute for that. None.
You’re right
Got that right.
Fantastic sad slow blues. The blues says it all. My brother in law just died of brain cancer. Playing and listening to the blues helps me to coop with this loss. Greetings from Holland.
Another classic Walter track
Alan, I’m sorry for the terrible loss of your wife. I’ve known Walter from the OLD Huntington Beach days. He’s a friend and #1 in my book.
Seems so many people here lost a loved one. My hubbie for over 40 years died in February 2020 and I feel so empty and cold sometimes, it takes everything to go on living. This song hits home.
genious best blues guitarist out there
Not only an incredible blues player, but an incredible person too. Met him at the Zoo bar in Lincoln, Nebraska, just prior to his liver transplant. Glad you made it Walter!
It don’t get any better 👍
Wow wow wow! This is an amazing song from Walter. Bonamassa has rubbed off a lot on Walter lately. Looking fwd to the new album! Thanks for this song Mr Trout!
LOL You've got it completely backwards. Walter Trout was crushing it when Bonamassa was still in diapers.
Have seen Walter perform a couple times- the last was 2 or 3 years ago. He talked about what he had been thru healthwise. He was unable to play his guitar or even walk, if I remember right- an amazing story. Catch him live if you can!
My wife of 22 years died in March. This song has touched me to the core. Nobody could have summed it up better.
so very sorry--- so hard
If this is a sample of whats to come on the new album I cant wait. Brilliant. He moved up another Gear with the new line up.
It has been years since I have listened to Walter. I am glad he is still in this realm. Thank you for the music.
Great music and amazing singer !
First song that felt true after my wife passed away
Just won an award for the year to the song
We r listening to
Can anyone say this isn’t raw? Powerful stuff here. Hearing this reminds me of when my parents listened to Robin Trower. A little Cream hints mixed in this. I’m not really into Blues but this is a phenomenal song.
Oh my I'm cryin...so beatiful!!
Great song, I just got the new record today in the mail and I love it. Walter keeps on making great music. I hope to be able to see him live again whenever this virus allows live shows again.
Beautiful song !!!!!
This is really great music - buy the CD like I just did.
excellent as always, the best in my case, I hope to see it one day in France
Walter Trout w fenomenalny sposób potrafi przekazać emocje jakie odczuwa osoba po stracie kogoś bliskiego . Głos i brzmienie gitary dosłownie wyciska łzy .
Dokladnie, a jest tak bo Walter dużo przeszedł a jeszcze więcej wycierpiał.
What an astonishing Blues track, has it all, expert and deeply felt playing. The lyrics are so touching. The track comes from
an excellent album and in my opinion the best Walter has made.
.. ! ! ! ..... why ,but why August 28 is so, so far !! ! ;) .? ! this second song is ""just""" Wonderful+++ ! ! & listenin' to it... i dont see anymore the ""cloud on the horizon."".. ;) in Paris...now ;)
Great stuff.
Amazing
I love it
I lost my wife due to a car accident, then I met a girl, after 10 years she left me. This is one of the most beautiful songs ever and I can't never listen to it for more than 1 minute.

Crack
How can mascot manage to put out an official video and spell their own artist's name wrong? Shocking. Another fantastic slow blues from Walter though.
I'm sorry..but for me the lyrics somehow don't "match" with the melody 😔. I have experienced the words, I live these words...but I don 't feel thuis song.
I love and apreciate Walter Trout, I really do but the melody, the guitar playing.....It just doesn't touch my soul.
4 years ago I lost my son of 23 years, due to a car crash, and ever since then music touches me even more than before.
I'm sorry, I get that this is personal, but this is just the way it feels for me..💔
Songs like that are meant to be personal for the people they touch.
Some lyrical phrasing I'm not impressed with. The playing I love, the lyrics are weak.
This is "since I've been loving you" by Led Zeppelin. Sorry, but it is...
Maybe so, but you could make the same complaint to Zeppelin with reference to 1950s blues bands and then accuse those same bands of ripping of the early 20th century bluesmen. There’s only so much originality you can have with a blues progression or even a blues solo, without it becoming something that ain’t the blues. This is a pretty sweet track. The way I see it these type of songs are really just a big setup for the solo where you get the real performance. I’m gutted I didn’t make it to see W Trout when he was in town recently. Will def go if he returns once this corona bollox ends.
LOL.... Zeppelin has been accused of ripping off tons of people. This is a minor blues progression that Zeppelin in no way invented. The Brits of that era were just emulating the American blues greats.
@@johnlee1297 ...Oh I agree that Led Zep ripped many of their songs from U.S. blues artists. I think they have said so themselves many times. I just think the song sounds A LOT like "since I've been loving you". Some parts sound almost identical.
This song was released at least a year before the Zepplin song .give credit where it is due
