If the provoker decides to leave, they will not give chase. The only reason why we hunters go after them is because the males go a little crazy during mating season.

I’ve only really played Rise so if there’s a monster hunter game where you do meet a Mizutsune outside of mating season, let me know what happens

Mizutsune in Monster Hunter World Iceborne. I can see it. We still need more Water Monsters. It would fit perfectly in Coral Highlands.
Mizsunes main source of food is fish. Now tell me where in coral highlands can you find a Large enought lake/River/Ocean Where she could prey on fish?
Mizutsune could adapt to the situation and feed on the Raphinos and/or coral eggs.
