Such a nice collection -- it is odd that Shout slammed us with so many sets in a short window then went completely quiet -- guess they ran out of titles to swoop up!

Hey man ,out of all the Shout sets, this was possibly my favourite , although 4 is maybe equally as good. Sadly Shout won't be releasing any further boxes, I emailed and they actually replied to me, and it makes sense as they are in chronological order. Even so their commitment to the cause is greater than any other company - 6 sets (4:classics ,Brave archer and David Chaing/Ti Lung box) a total of 63 films in 8 months, eh is more than any other company except IVL
I agree, the spread of films is better than Shawscope -better selection of directors and variety.
Lau Kar-leung is completely absent from any of the sets ,and I know 88 and Arrow have pretty much released all his big hitters, but Lady is the boss really needs an upgrade.
I binge watched this set and you really are in for a treat ,looking forward to hearing what your thoughts are. I was happy that Chor Yuen finally gets some attention .

Hey, that's shame to hear! There's definitely some more early 80s titles that they could pull together (not to mention many other Shaw titles overall). But yeah, they certainly pumped them out fast!
I'll hopefully get into box 4 this week or next :) Thanks for watching!

@@invincibleasiaofficial no worries man. I think volume 4 has some films that the transfers aren't up to par. I had a good few of them on Blu-ray from 88 films, but hey with all the different companies putting out Shaw stuff, that was always going to happen.
I got the Brave Archer and David Chaing /Ti Lung boxes as well but I am lucky as one of my relatives lives in the states. I think as a studio they had an exceptional quality level, and the 80's was probably my favourite period. They knew the end was in sight and mashed up loads of different styles and genres, shame it had to come to an end.
Interested to see what you think of volume 4.

Good to know! I'll be starting box 4 this week, so video should follow soon enough. Hoping to get the Brave Archer and Chiang Tung set soon enough :)

@@invincibleasiaofficial out of all the sets, I found the Iron triangle one a bit of a slog getting through. Partly because it's too samey and lacks the fantastical nonsense other sets have, but at the point in time Chang Cheh was very into Yang gang stuff. Oh and I binge watched the entire set, so that may have been a huge factor.

@mitchsfridaynightsongclub2594 I'll probably be getting the Ti Lung / David Chiang set very last after the Classics and Brave Archer. SHOUT doesn't seem to wanna drop the price on that one, plus the duty fees are ridiculous. Around $30 bucks or more is unnecessary lol.

I'm stuck on whether I should get this box next, Brave Archer, or the Criterion Jackie Chan box :-/ Which would you suggest?

This would be my choice! I have the Brave Archer set on the way and the Emergence Of A Superstar set was gorgeous, but I can't get enough of these :)
