Why? What is this doing that simply leaning the door against any solid surface with a couple scraps of cloth to protect the edges do? I've discovered that being a packrat, saving every little scrap and random piece of hardware, pays off. From time to time it leads to coming up with just the right parts to make something such as this. This is inspired!
Maybe if you’re a hobbyist. Any professional woodworker will tell you they’ll make a dozen more scraps just like it before finding a use for the first one. Every jig or fixture I make gets dated. If it hasn’t been used again in 6-12 months, it goes in the wood stove or the dumpster.

Show us the attachment of the first triangle. I think that most of us are smart enough to figure how to attach the next three. Streamline your video. There are numerous other ways that you can do more to accomplish this.. I went to the end of the video, saw the end assembly and realized that I could figure it out from there. I’m sure that production door “stander on edgers” would find this essential. To me? It’s a solution in search of a problem I never had.
I love how the people that get it think this is a great piece of kit and the people that stumbled across this video think its pointless. Remember people: leaning a door against a wall once and just dealing with the hassle, or hacking together a solution for those rare occassions when you need it, just does not cut it when doors are your profession. A minute saved for a specialist is very different from a minute saved for a hobbyist.
“People that get it” and “people that stumbled across it” are not opposites. People who get it might’ve stumbled across it, and people who don’t get it might’ve searched for this video specifically. I stumbled across this video and I get it. It’s a simple project that will save a lot of frustration if you often need this type of support. Now I’m wondering if you don’t know the meaning of “stumble across” which is “to find something unexpectedly completely by chance”. It’s very different than “stumble through” which is to “to make one's way through something with unsteady or faltering steps”…
@@DisgruntledPigumon I'm honestly not sure why you're making a semantic argument, right now. We seem to agree that those that 'get it' have a point, so why are you even pointing out the flaw in my word choice? My point was communicated to you, you understood what I meant, so why even bother?
Wow amazing, this one time I removed my closet door because preferred having it open shelving, but anyway back to my door, after I removed the door I leaned it up against the back corner wall of the same closet in case I decide to put the door back on I can, I never even thought about building one of those fancy door racks but I think I’ll give it a try, tomorrow I’ll pick up the supplies and build one, I’ll just have to park my wife’s car out side this winter so I can make room to set up one of these nice display rack for my old door to sit on, such a great idea, it’s a close 2nd right behind the Covid Vaccine for 5-11 yr olds, face it, humanity has lost its mind!
That is called a "Martha Stewart" when something that can be simply done in a few minutes is expanded into a project that takes hours. I'd use 2 or 4 woodscrew clamps along the edge to get the stability I need.

There are numerous other ways that you can do more to accomplish this.. I went to the end of the video, saw the end assembly and realized that I could figure it out from there. I’m sure that production door “stander on edgers” would find this essential. To me? It’s a solution in search of a problem I never had.
every one just leans door against a wall with some cardboard behind it
Jejejejeje 😁😁😁
Lo bueno de mirar primero como termina😃😃😃..
Great for doing hinges and latches. . Folds away in a small place.. Sweet..
x2
Pa qué lo miras si no te interesa? Que esperabas que acabara siendo? Una lavadora? 😂😂😂😂😂😂

I love how the people that get it think this is a great piece of kit and the people that stumbled across this video think its pointless.
Remember people: leaning a door against a wall once and just dealing with the hassle, or hacking together a solution for those rare occassions when you need it, just does not cut it when doors are your profession.
A minute saved for a specialist is very different from a minute saved for a hobbyist.
clamping sawhorse workbench - yeah pretty silly vid
2 sticks and a rag 2 lean against, what a load haha
MORALLLL
melhor que o meu método
Gostei
Parabéns 😂👍
This is meant for repeatability, you don’t exactly tear this down and once it’s built it takes much less to set up
A carpenter who doesn't understand the value of this isn't much of a carpenter
Muito legal vim só faltou as medidas
Made a taller, similar one with wider boards. We called it a doorjack. Cabinet maker showed me how. Use strips of carpet for nonmarring.
Same here, but I don't like working bent over, especially when planing doors, so I made mine adjustable to be able to work on different sized doors at a convenient height.
Muito boa ideia!
Parabéns...
It’s a great tool to cut in hinges on a door.
I have used one for 50 years, a little different design, and a piece of indoor outdoor carpet on inside to avoid marking door.
Good job on making them.!!! 😊👍
Buen trabajo con la madera bro
Sensacional!!!
MmmmmNO
I could really use that,
maybe once in a lifetime!
Then he wasn't talking to you! Can you figure out who it was for?
1986subway I suppose I see more value in using my clamping saw horse for this job and dozens of others rather then two things of limited use taking up space unused for 365 days of the year
@@harpersisland got it,your experience and skill is the very pinnacle and thus no improvement can be made on your methodology. Also carpenters who specialize in strictly modification and replacement of custom doors are most definitely not a thing🙄
1986subway you are taking a comment about someone else video awfully personally. However in the end I really could not care any less what opinion you have as I suppose many here have regarding mine, difference is I won’t get all pissy about it like you do.
@@harpersisland there ya go bud never admit your flaws when someone points them out. You will always be perfect in your own mind. I don't find ignorance offensive, but refusal to correct it is the most disgusting thing a person can do
Excelente para los vendedores d puertas!👍
You’ll probably used it once every 10 years 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I don't think I'll EVER use it to hold a door while I have to go to the loo, but the idea is sound and can be adapted for other use.
That said, the finale of these 6 minutes was a real shocker for me, too... 😎
Si...... 🤔...... 😅🤣😅🤣😅🤣😅🤣👋
Love the creative design, love the functionality and the ingenuity, just one thing and that's the storage. I need to work on doors from time to time and have ben faced the same problem. What I do now is to just take a couple wood clamps and clamp a couple pieces of scrap 2x4 pieces on the bottom edge of the door where it meets the floor. Easy peezy.
It will fall over
Same idea just use a cutaway and a wedge. (As above)
@@lovelyjubbly1010 Cállate!! 😡😡
