I’ve got the same meat thermometer, and now the same coffee grinder!
Boom!
Mixer is next 😁
Me too 😄

Hello, hows'the grinder after 11 months of use? I did see some bad reviews on amazon saying it quit working after a while. I did buy it and I should be getting sometime next week but now just popped a bunch of bad reviews for it. :/
I still use it everyday. I grind both French press and pour over... I've not had any issues
Thank you I have one stuppid questio but I need help. My grinder its comming today and I try to understand how its working. How can I set the grinder to get 12g of ground coffee? Do I need to put 12g whole coffee beans?
Yes, I would weigh my beans first then grind them and weigh the grounds make sure your output is the same as the input
I appreciate the 51 settings which I assume goes from really corse to really fine. So an all round coffee grinder, but my question is does it allow you to dial in the grind settings for proper espresso not just the 4 or 5 or 6 settings that all round coffee grinders have.
That's a great question. The 51 grinder settings have "suggested" grinds for your espresso, pour over, drip etc... So, you'll pick your grind setting from coarse to fine then the "4, 5, 6" is cups. This is basically a timer for your grinder that can be used for 1-10c in a drip coffee maker.
Personally, I use it as a timer for my beans. For example, I grind 30g for my pour over and french press and set the grinder at 51 for French press and 40 for pour over then I select 4cups which is just enough time to grind 30g of beans. Hope this helps
Im new to this making your own espresso experience. I just bought this grinder, what settings do you recommend for the diff methods? Exp how many seconds for espresso and what grinding setting (considering it has 6 mini settings for espresso)?
To be honest there are many variables:
The bean
The roast
Single shot or double
Your espresso machine
If you watch some of the professional Baristas you'll see that some change the grind daily based on the above variables. Best thing to do is test it and see what works for you.
I will say that when you are making changes only change 1 thing at time.
The roast, the grind time, the grind setting ECT...
Doesn't grind fine enough 4 bottomless Porter filters? I seen some reviews where it's not quite fine enough for espresso. Is there any way to adjust it pass their recommended recommendation of find grind? Thank you in advance
The only way to bypass the fine grind would be to grind it again. I only use this grinder for pour over and french press. I use my espresso machine with built in grinder for my espresso.
I will compare the grinds for you though and let you know my thoughts
@@skinners100honestreviews3 thank you I would appreciate that I would love to have this grinder I did not want to spend $200 or more for one so I'm really hoping this will do espresso
I have this grinder, and depending on the beans i am using, i set it between 9 and 6 for espresso. Under 4, it completely chokes my machine with a single shot (8,5g - Delonghi Dedica). So i can say it grinds fine enough for espresso
@@mati2110 Thanks for you input, it is appreciated and very helpful!
@@mati2110👍
Hi again. So I guess you are using non-pressurized basket here ? Do you get a good extraction ? Thanks
Do you think that level 1 on espresso will be good for Turkish coffee? Because Turkish coffee is really really fine and I couldn't find any video about it if you reply I'll appreaciate.
That's a great question!
I actually have Turkish coffee and I think it is a lot finer than anything I've ever used before. Level 1 is comparable but not the same ... But that's just my opinion
Nice review! but what is the benefits of timer?
If you were to fill the hopper you can set the timer to grind a certain amount of coffee for a single cup, half pot or full pot .
I have mine set on 4sec and that grind about 30g which is perfect for my pour over or French Press
@@skinners100honestreviews3 oh ok. thank you sir
@@E-H you're welcome
Olá, tenho um moedor desses. Gostaria de saber qual a moagem mais indicada para café coado?
Ola, eu sou brasileiro. Adquiri este moedor e um chefwave conical bur. Esse moedor moe bem o café para espresso? Eu estou prestes a inaugurar o meu.
For some reason when I try to fine grind with this - it is too fine grind.. like it won't go through my portafilter. What am I doing wrong? I can't figure it out.
If it's too fine and plugging your filter maybe try going a little more coarse
Do you recommend or shop
I'm still using mine daily.
I don't think you would be disappointed if you purchased it
@@skinners100honestreviews3 thanks, dear. I already buy this. Can you say how about cold brew size?
Hello. I have bought one and I can't find a French notice.
Please can you say me me how I can change the time for one cup ?
My engine shows 5 seconds.
Thank you 😊
I have mine set to 4sec for 30g of coffee which is perfect for pour over and french press
@@skinners100honestreviews3 Thank you
Dose my 51mm portafilter fit in this grinder? Thanks
54 and 58mm
I mentioned the sizes at 1:53 if you'd like to double check
it's good for espresso or not ?
yes, it does have a fine grind setting on it.
Not with a bottomless portafilter
Hi! Does it come with the dosing funnel? Thanks
No funnel included
How do I turn on the settings button?
start the video at the 2:00 mark
I have moccamaster drip coffee whats the perfect grind size?
That is a great question ... I'm still toying with my grind settings.
I have a 51mm so i wont work with this? The only thing i can use it for is to grind?
Unfortunately I think you're right. I use it to grind my pour over, french press, and aeropress drinks and I use my espresso machine (in the background) to grind my espresso drinks
You can use it but it doesn't fit perfectly. (you need to wiggle around a wee bit. I didn't bother and got the grinder. Not a single day of regret - its so awesome for the price! I also got a Coffee Portafilter Dosing Cup, so I can put the coffee into the portafilter without making any mess
Thanks for the info@@ingver13
Do any of the attachments work with smaller sized portafilters? Like a 51mm?
It actually has 2 portafilter cradles: 53mm and 58mm
Unfortunately it does not come with a 51mm cradle or filter.
The 53 mm funnel also works for 51mm portafilter. I use it with my Dedica
@@mati2110Thanks for this !
I also have a Dedica EC685. Do you consider you get good espresso results with this grinder ? I am on the fence of buying it but don’t want to fall in the “too good to be true” trap…😅 Thanks again
I don't know why it grinded once then can't grind again. I wish you could show us how to clean it
All the pieces should disassemble pretty easy... I'll see if I can make a quick video
When I press the button for 12 cups it just blinks. When I press it a second time it goes back to 1 cup but no sound is heard and there is no grinding happening. Nothing comes out. Maybe I have a defective product.
The motor doesn't make a y spinning sound. I used compressed air to clean it and washed out the other thing and dried it. Everything lights up and you can see the digital light up and do their thing and when done you hear a ding but motor under doesn't spin. It's defective. So hopefully yours will last.
Can you use it with any 58mm Portafilter?
Yes you can
@@skinners100honestreviews3 Unfortunately, it does not work with the Gaggia Classic Evo Pro portafilter :-(
Would love to have a little bit more detailed review.
What would you like to know about it?
@skinners100honestreviews3 you didn't really get into details showing how good of a job it did grinding the beans which is the most important aspect of the grinder. Did it grind evenly? Do you feel like your coffee tasted better than the old version? Did the espresso Brew properly and evenly in the amount of time that it's supposed to? You didn't show the attachment that comes with it that you can put on top to help blow out the extra coffee dust. Didn't show how to clean it. A lot of people buy these for making espresso and we need to know how good is it really at making "good" espresso? A lot of these cheaper grinders don't grind well enough to make good espresso. Of course you can grind the beans and throw it in there and hit brew and it will work but does it work well? Does it make "good" espresso?
@@photosbynickel I appreciate that. After reviewing the video I realized it was a quick "comparison" video.
This video was posted 9mths ago and I am still using the grinder daily.
I feel like the grind is really good and even. Because it's been 9mths I can't say the coffee tastes better or not. I will say, that the size of the grind definetly makes a difference in taste. I'm actually using the Pour Over grind setting for my French Press coffee which is a great cup!
I don't use the espresso grind because I have an espresso machine with a grinder...that would be a good test to run though. The portafilter attachment has 2 sizes and I've had no issues, but again, I don't do the espress grind so I don't need/use the attachment.
I've just started drinking espresso again so I'll give that grind a run and see what I think compared to the actual grind on the machine.
Thanks for your input, I really do appreciate it.
