It’s been confirmed by the devs that red actually gets infected with the same parasite that black had, so I imagine Scarlet just being red when he gets infected.

scarlet backstory: black’s parasite form the finale mod moved on to red, giving red blacks parasite as a sign of black’s constant rage.
black backstory: before black actually became an impostor, there were 2 characters, orange and red. and over time, orange got bored and left, leaving black trapped in the among us scripts. black was furious and wanted to escape from being trapped in the among us scripts, and because black was so angry, he somehow escaped from the scripts, making him a character for once. while the among us scripts were still broken, blank became an impostor his first time outside the among us scripts, rather than a crew mate. he had now been the chosen one. and once he was introduced to bf, he became bf’s permanent enemy.
grey backstory: this may confuse you, but grey is not actually an impostor. grey got his knife from black. his nickname was “lil grey”. when grey didn’t know what was happening, black ate grey’s father. when grey found out that his father died, he left the map that black was in crying.
