That's a really cool interview. I have never seen it before. It's actually funny to think of motherfucking Chester Bennington waiting in line to audition. If he had sang first back then there would have been more people giving up and leaving the audition.
I can't imagine anyone being dumb enough not to sign them. I remember back in highschool when hybrid theory came out it was like gold. You couldn't get it it was instantly sold out everywhere. No one could keep it in stock and people were passing it around school like a drug. I was one of the earlier people to the internet and napster, kazaa, and all that so I was able to get my hands on it that way, but most people had to wait for supply to catch up to demand which took a LONG time.
I feel like these 2 are the primary talent of the band. I think other people have talent too, but as far as writing the music and of course chester's vocals, I think these 2 were super important because new LP is awful imo. I think Rob left because he knew it. He was the only smart one that knew exactly when to dip out.
Rob we appreciate you more than you know true fans have no rejections to you leaving Linkin park, yours and Chester's relationship was unparalleled we love you Rob, 🙏🏻Chester rest in Peace ✌🏻

4:02 I'm not sure that was the fair thing. If Mike, Rob and the other guys were already writing and rehearsing with Chester, Chester was pretty much already a member of the band, wouldn't be kinder to the other candidates to just unbook the auditions, instead of giving them false hopes?
It's Mike who gave the last vote for Chester. No doubt about Chester voice, but not sure about his problem, addiction, background, being father in young age, etc. Maybe that's why there's no really grieve song about Chester in Mike's post-traumatic, more about Mike's feeling journey and anger (to Chester and to himself), he's already knew from the beginning the risks of accepting Chester in the band and being Chester friend. Tried to avoid the worst scenario, prepared, but it happened anyway, still hit hard and deep. Just my thought, i don't know, maybe i'm wrong..
@@mikanasan2 I have the same thoughts. Chester was trouble, and they know that, and I have the feeling that Mike got a little bit angry at Chester for what he did and the consequences of the choice he made. (My native language is Spanish, i tried to explain myself the best I could)
