This is unironically the most excited I’ve been for a PlayStation game right after its announcement since Demon’s Souls remake.

This genuinely feels like a game. Just old fashion (don't question the context) fun. My kids' closest chance of what it felt like playing something on the playstation 2 in the early to mid 2000s vibes.
You can tell this is going to be a full fledged game, there’s soo much to unpack in this trailer alone. Astros playroom was a tech demo, but due to how successful it was, they clearly saw an opportunity to make this a full fledged IP and they’re going for it
You just don't know too many games, there are plenty similar with this from recent years

There's like 3 or 4 games that's feel like this minus roblox, even though that came out in the mid 2000's but it always felt like... something. I have crash games and remastered ps2 games like spyro and Crash, but besides literal ps2 games I have, everything feels... modern. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, just a different vibe
You’re not wrong, it’s great to have an ACTUAL PlayStation game that’s also cartoony and not cinematic & crazy realistic like they constantly been.

This is what the PS5 needed. A true mascot that is fun and can be enjoyed by everyone, and a game that fully utilizes what's jammed into the controller.
I swear, every game that has the PlayStation Studios logo when you start up the game is a seal of quality.

This looks like fun in the purest form. Not focusing on story, graphics, or other stuff just focusing on making a fun game which seems to be rare nowadays

Don’t know what took Sony so long, the little demo that comes with the PS5 was fun.
Asobi probably only started development in mid 2020, so a 4 year turn around is pretty good for a modern game.

@@arzfan29 Game Freak has multiple teams working on Pokémon, Legends and the remasters are handled by different teams/studios than the mainline games.

My kid has literally never stopped playing astros playroom and has like 100 hours in it. This is like christmas come early for her.
You could get her the previous game too, Astro Bot Rescue Mission, playable on PS5, so she could play it before this one releases.
It's exclusive to the original Playstation VR though, so that's like a $100+ buy second hand, plus you need an adapter for that old model to work on the PS5.
It's a shame that game hasn't been ported to the VR2, but the VR2 alone is like $400 dollars still, it's somehow cheaper to buy the old outdated headset for the sake of a couple games, poor planning on Sony's part.
The first 2 games have iffy availability on PS5 too.
The original tech demo, The Playroom, is still the only PS4 exclusive game in existence, despite all you need to play it being the PS4 camera and controller, both of which are already compatible with the PS5.
The Playroom VR, a more fully fledged party game, and where Astro first appeared, requires a PS4 controller and the whole VR1 setup, but _is_ available to play on PS5.

Seeing Wander from Shadow of the Colossus in this trailer actually made me really excited

Japan Studio did merge with Team Asobi back in 2021. Though I don’t think the original developers (Team Ico) are still there.
Ico & PaRappa also made an appearance.
There was also the character from ICO.
In the opening showing playstation logo, you could also see Spike (from ape escape) entering the logo. We might get him ingame as well
@@rus.t If by "merge" you mean "Lost most of its employees when japan studio was shut down" then yes. Sony has also consistently blocked parapa 3 from being made.
The sheer manic energy in this trailer is what gaming needs more of now.

Astro Bot bundled with my PS5 purchase was sooooooo fun! Was hoping for a sequel to it and now we get one. Definite purchase. It seems like there are a lot more bosses and some unique suits. Charm all the way.

I love chibi robo. But this is different. If they would make a new chibi robo i want it to be an exploring game like the GC game. Not a platformer

I don't think the robot is too charismatic to have as a "mascot", but in an age where consoles completely lack those except for Nintendo, it's really cool that it is there at all

I've played every game that has these little robot friends and I'm so excited to see a new mainline game, also without a subtitle? This is a day one purchase
I want this game to do well so bad right now Sony's so busy chasing the live service fad they put a full fledged game for Astro Bot on hold for 4 years. And judging by the reactions it may just end up doing better than all those live service games combined.
This looks like a ps5 version of Kirby and thre Forgotten Land.
Now that the game has been out for almost a week and we all have snagged that platinum trophy (right?) I think is safe to say that not only is the game a 10/10, but that someone needs to brush off Sonic's old seat so Astro Bot can sit next to Mario.
And they would be crazy not to make stuff like Astro Kart and Astro Smash where all the characters of course are the bots in cosplay.

Still to this day astros play room is the only game that’s fully utilised the power of the ps5 controller, no other game has came close so I can gladly say I’ll be playing this. Can’t wait!
Looks absolutely incredible! Astro Bot: Rescue Mission on PSVR blew our minds and was our inspiration behind making our very own VR platformer: Max Mustard. Even though this new title isn't headed to PSVR2, we hope to help fill the void for anyone wanting another charming VR platformer! 😄
At least you don't have to worry about your game going up against Astro Bot. Max Mustard looks like a good fill in for the job of VR platforming.

I feel sorry that the cobra boss has to go through all that suffering, but then again, she's an evil robot. The moment I saw this through PlayStation Store, I was surprised at the return of the alien, gorilla, octopus, and bird bosses from the VR game.

Loving Astrobot but really feeling bad about putting trust into Sony with PSVR2. They didn't even _bother_ with a VR mode. Well, I learned my lesson.
Sony is essentially throwing in the towel on the PSVR2 by offering the PC adapter coming in August

Holy 💩 this looks amazing! This was the first game I beat with my son so we're hyped for a sequel. Now all we need is a Sackboy Big Adventure sequel. But this looks INCREDIBLE!

Honestly that would be awesome if that’s the goal because it’s definitely better and more charming, even tho I really love Nintendo Mario universe, there’s just something adorable with Astro that keeps making me want to go back to its universe dumb fun I guess
