I live just north of Charlotte NC and have been growing Dragon Fruit for several years. I have 8 named varieties, 14 total plants. Sugar Dragon is a great universal pollinator, will have plenty of pollen (also frozen pollen from last year). Also plenty of cuttings. If you are in the Piedmont you're not far away.

Thank you sir for this lovely comments! I too purchased American beauty, sugar dragon, and two other varieties. But it will take time to mature and produce flowers. If I travel to Charlotte during August, can I contact you to get some pollen from your universal pollinator?

I love dragon fruit. I live in North Carolina, but I'm in the mountains, bordering Tennessee and I don't have a lot of room inside. However, my brother has a sun room and he grows everything coming and going. Im going to have to get him some dragon fruit plants. 😂

What kind of soil are you using?

Great job! Do you continue to take it inside during each winter after they get big and established? Also, are you more inland or near the ocean?

Hi yes I take it indoors during winter otherwise it won’t survive the freezing temperatures. I live in Piedmont area.

Hi, I bury two Jobe’s organic fruit and citrus fertilizer spikes in the soil during the last week of April. Water it once a week and that’s all I do.
