NZ is one heck of a team. Apart from run machine Lockie Ferguson every player just never gives anything easy, absolutely nothing is given by this team. Speaking neutrally, this team just deserves the WC for what they give on the field. But as an Indian they have been a thorn on our chances in the past. So happy and delighted that we got past them and hopefully we can deliver them another heartbreaking knockout punch in the final as they are used to.

This is easily Virat's best Odi World cup knock because firstly there was no catch dropped in this game unlike vs Australia, secondly you have to earn almost every single run against this bowling unit in which except Ferguson every bowler makes it very hard to get easy runs and thirdly, he did not really start playing big shots after getting his 50 as he knew that he had to stay there and only after reaching 80, he took a small risk vs Boult to get a six.

Keep bumrah aside for a part, shami is the finest India ever had in terms of the sheer ability with the ball. If these guys are gonna play shardul again, when hardik comes back , owing to lack of tail batting. Then siraj has to sit down. Siraj is an absolute fighter, wonderful bowler. 1. Kohli is an exceptional (or beyond exceptional) player and he secured a win in this match.
      2. He chose to chase his own milestone by denying a single, and some people don't care for that kind of approach in a team sport.

And the situation today was very different from the match with Bangladesh. In that game there was no way we were going to lose so it's fine if he wanted his 100 - if you can win a match and achieve your personal milestone, fine. But today was risky business. Kohli and Jadeja were the last batsmen around, after them were the bowlers, and they were playing against a good New Zealand team - against whom they had a losing record btw (breaking that record was more important). I guess they just have to be careful not to get too carried away.

He denied the single and went for the glory hit when only five runs were required of 15 deliveries. He had done all the hard work and may be thought he deserved another 100. He might have expected the likes of Jadeja, Shami, Siraj and Bumrah to score 4 runs from more than 2 overs even if it is a mishit ( as it actually turned out to be)
