that line about led zeppelin seemed to get past you guys so I'll explain. Robert Plant often wrote songs inspired by Tolkien's work, mostly Lord of the Rings. 'Ramble On' is the most blatant example. little fun fact on the side about their music to drive the idea home: there's a meme or w/e you see on social media titled Pie Chart of Zeppelin Songs or something and it's basically 50/50 sex and Tolkien and a little sliver of citrus. these guys do their research and know their stuff when writing these lyrics for rap battles. sometimes they're just genius
Agreeing with all the comments here that Tolkien won, also to remember, Tolkien is the god father of fantasy, Without LOTR, The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, etc. there would be no fantasy and no Game of Thrones. my fav line: "CW Lewis and I Were both discussing, you and jon snow, both know nothing" CS Lewis was the author of Chronicles of Narnia, and his college partner. He often read the rough drafts of LOTR and Hobbit. AN example of how tolkiens a better writer: The scene in two towers where the ents march on isengard and attack it. That was scene was a direct inspiration from when he went to go see Shakespeare's hamlet. When they go to the scene of sherwood forest marching on dusinane castle, it was people carrying a bunch of ugly paper twigs. He decided he will rewrite that scene and do it justice, Hence the march of the ents. Also Treabeards character was based of author CW Lewis The actor who played the evil wizard saruman, Christopher Lee played the Original Dracula in bram stoker movies back in the day, is cousin to Ian Flemming, the author of James Bond, Lee also met JRR Tolkien and got his blessing to play gandalf, but opted for Saruman since he was too old by the time it came true. Lee was also Francisco Scaramanga in Man with the Golden Gun. AKA no matter how you think it, LOTR and Tolkienm win hands down. Way more great movies, stories, people attached to it then Martin and Game of Thrones
