Everything about this was great. I feel like some retired Sarn’t from the Army specifically wrote that section due to the high level of sarcasm & imbedded hatred.
I actually kinda liked the navy's Blueberries. It made them stand out, and after watching The Last Ship, it grew on me.
It was really good at hiding oil stains.
It was (afaik) mostly replaced because [ALLEGEDLY] it was somehow 9000% more flammable than literally every other uniform since at least WW2 using the more or less exact same fiber blend, has a few more pockets that are 100% useless due to location and size, !VELCRO!, a button fly upgrade over the blue's zipper fly, and forces everyone to determine rank via extra long chest staring since it's a black on green tab vs full color collar devices. Also some shit about being lighter and better in hot weather which I haven't noticed in five years of using it, and it's less comfy. And how could I forget you get some thankfully small shoulder velcro patch locations that you were, until recently, literally only allowed to put exactly 2 specific patches on.
Really good investment guys.
@@commander5983Well, they were *actually* designed for the Seabees, expeditionary warfare, and SPECWAR.
Until big Navy decided to come along and ruin both their blue side and green side identities all in one swoop by giving EVERYONE the greens.
@@kilowhiskey7973 having only 1 uniform makes it cheaper
@@cgmason7568 it’s the navy, they don’t care about things being “cheaper” lol.
Sailor here. I hated it, until someone told me our current one looks likes Minecraft creepers and I can't unsee it. Now the navy one feels unuseful but still iconic.
The only branch that should have different camp uniforms is the navy inboard ship. Everyone should be wearing the same uniform as we had with every uniform before 2000s
Marine Corps hasn't changed theirs since 2000. Well if it's not broke don't fix it
Also the cheapest one for R&D and the only one to pass the test of time.
This is gold. Keep up the good work.
I think the guard and Reserves have old gear because they don't get the new gear as soon so they are left with using their old stuff until the new gets fielded.
So not exactly hand-me-down per se.
You forgot that the Coast Guard wears NWU type 3 just like Navy. The Navy so has the NWU type 2 desert camo.
Only Coast Guard PSUs and PATFORSWA, MSRTs and TACLETs use mulitcam
Give it its due , A.U.C,, did blend in urban environments, like iraq , because of the grey concrete colour
Active army still uses handy down gear that doesn't match. Looks stupid.
Background music was annoying but I subb’d cuz decent video otherwise
They should give the coast guard the blue berry camo considering u kno their on the water ???
