El hasn't had a normal childhood. She doesn't understand the dynamics of friendship other than what she has learned from Mike. She isn't intentionally withholding info to be a "traitor", she's trying to keep them away from the danger and keep them safe. She doesn't understand how to communicate this to her new friends. That's my thoughts.

I really like Eric's opinion about Steve, he is better then his social position/friends force him to be. I also think that's why he liked Nancy in the first place.

@@GentlyUsedFrog Some people get really annoyed/pissed off about grammar corrections. I think sometimes people read into people correcting grammar as being condescending, as if the person correcting knows better and just has to go and correct everyone when they're wrong. There could also sometimes be an element of feeling humiliated when someone points out a mistake that you made.
I always just preface corrections like that with a disclaimer that they can ignore my comment if they aren't interested in hearing the correction, to hopefully eliminate some of those preconceptions and not butt heads against anyone.
@@peterlewis2178 The thing is they shouldn't think like that from the start. I am not saying I'm better, I'm not saying they're dumb, I'm not doing a whole monologue on the English language, I'm not telling them they should be ashamed... I'm just correcting one word or two. That's it.
@@GentlyUsedFrog Perhaps, but I do understand where people are coming from, and so it's best to just take that into consideration. A lot of people don't have a very good grammar education, and probably are made to feel inferior by some people for that very reason. So I can understand why they would get pissed off at people correcting them on something they don't think should be that important.

Lucas was quite correct to feel the way he felt and to call El out. All he could tell was that it became evident that El was indeed sabotaging the mission and endangering the lives of himself & his friends and acting all casual about, because about it, because she had no way to explain why she felt she had to take such actions. In addition, what Dustin said was also true, that Lucas was jealous that El had begun to infiltrate the friend group and he was jealous that Mike's obviously burgeoning crush on El drew attention away from their friendship. He reacted the way a kid his age would given these situations.

This is a year late, but I think Will lasted so long because he WASN'T bleeding, but because it saw him on the road - it chased him and eventually dragged him to the Upside Down because it was near enough, but because he wasn't injured, it was harder to keep track of Will ... until "someone" finds him in a later episode and brings the demigorgon to him ...

Wasn't the shotgun still on the table? I don't remember if he was holding it before he vanished. Even then, as you've obviously seen the show 7 years later (I haven't finished S3 so don't spoil), the demogorgon doesn't give a fuck about bullets. They do damage, and stun, but it does not care.

Apparently, the X-Men issue comic owed to Will from the bike race between he and Dustin is the issue where Jean Grey becomes Phoenix. That reference seems to be aimed at Ele (Eleven). Check it out, then think about it throughout the rest of the season. It's crazy spot on

Also to expand on the shark with a knife idea: sharks usually attack alone and weak targets, sometimes able to practically smell when their target is sick. So when that thing is attacking things that bleed, are injured and so on, it is very similar to a shark. Lol
I like to think of the upside-down as a parasitic dimension as apposed to a parallel dimension. it seems to be more like its attached to ours and feeding off it and not a separate thing itself.
13.00-14.20 you can actually see that everyone is on the edge of their seats, especially Aaron, and then after the final titles they all go back. Yeah, this is why this series are so great!

Granted Elle has major communication issues, but if we're being real Lucas is biased as hell tho! From the start he wanted to see the worst in Elle, and made the least effort to try and understand her. I'm with Eric I understand but I don't think he was right.

I think the reason why Lucas was so contentious and mean towards El is because he was jealous of her relationship with Mike. He probably felt like he was losing his best friend in a way. I think both Lucas and Eleven were wrong in this episode. Dustin was the only one being civil.

Great reaction and discussion guys. So glad you guys are loving the show. Already seen it all like Shane so can't wait to see how you react to the final 3 episodes. I love Shane's little looks at the camera because he knows whats going to happens since he watched the season before the rest of them. As for the argument. Lucas was right to call out El for misleading them, but he shouldn't have called her a traitor. Eleven was trying to protect them but she should have been more honest but her lack of social and verbal skills hinder her doing that. Which is to be expected since she was raised her whole life in that Lab by Dr Brenner. You guys are gonna love the next episode, can't wait!
Love them both, but I'm with Lucas on this one too. But more I'm just happy about how realistic it is that not everyone just falls in line with El and immediately accepts her into the group. I think there would definitely be conflicts, shifts in the dynamic of the friend group and Lucas' character provides that balance. Sucks that he gets a lot of shit for it. Truthfully, I'm the Lucas within my group of friends so I can really relate. Great reaction! Can't wait for the next one.

I understand why Lucas was mad... What I don't understand is why Mike would hit him. And that too for a girl whom he barely knows. I can understand him arguing with him, but hitting him... NO WAY !!! I know that El didn't have a normal childhood and is bad at communicating things but if I was Lucas I would have reacted the same way...
I totally agree when Lucas was giving El a hard time in the beginning of the season I couldn't stand him, but this episode I totally got where he was coming from. She should have just told them from the get go that it was dangerous. Mike fighting his best friend was just totally in the wrong.

I must say that I agree with Lucas because he is only looking out for Will, Mike and Dustin. Ell is a stranger so why would you put 100% faith in a person who you just met days ago, who is also acting very weird and shady! She turned up when Will disappeared so he is right to come to the conclusion that she could be the monster, for all they know she could be responsible. Also Mike didn’t have to fight him because he said so, Mike was being foolish because he fancies Ell causing a fight for no reason. Lucas is right to be concerned.
Altered States is the movie where a professor uses a sensory deprivation tank and peyote to explore human evolution. William Hurt played the lead.

Remember when barbara got taken? she was in the "other worlds" pool. which is weird because if it was an alternate world or a flip world who created the pool? who created the house? I think the upside down might actually be the future.

Is the Black boy "Lucas"? If so, his reaction reminds me of how Sheldon reacted, but without the tears and with more anger! As for "Jane Hopper" she reminds me of those mothers who want to protect their children without getting any protests! So they secretly protect their children! Omg, I just realized that there might be a clue to the third season in this (or not, idk what the Russian guy was saying in the deprivation tank) but in the second season there is a lot of rumors about a Russian spy, and in the time the third season is set, there was a Russian attack on America (I think, or I'm just dumb) and there are theorys that the men in gas masks in the third season trailer are Russian, and the planes are from a Russian invasion, so what if the man is saying something about this plan, but we don't know unless we speak Russian?? (IDK, either way, there is a bunch of stuff about a Russian spy in the 2nd season, and there just happens to be a man speaking Russian in El's "lets see what's happening in other places of the world rn" box? Idk, big coincidence for me)

Here is a suggestion: I know you don't have all the time in the world to watch everything. But maybe when popular shows air that everyone wants a reaction to try to focus on that show before it becomes old news. I say this because today you posted a reaction to a show that was on about 11 years ago. If you had take that 1 hour viewing time you couldn't have watched another episode of Stranger Things. That is just my two cents. I love your reactions.
But it's true though, supernatural is good but not the best show out there... There are so many amazing shows, but I get it, fans voted so they are just respecting that.

IIRC, Supernatural was selected by some of their biggest Patreon contributors as a tier reward so that's why they ended up doing it next.

I always feel bad for both Lucas and Eleven during that scene. Lucas is worried about his friend and just wants to help Will, when he finds out Eleven is try to keep them away from the gate he thinks of the worst possibility. That Eleven is hiding something that she didn’t want them to see, meaning he thinks that she was never fully on their side and just leading them through a wild goose chase. He had a right to be mad. But for Eleven she can’t talk about Brenner’s experiments and what happened with the gate, she doesn’t have a big enough vocabulary for that. When Mike was yelling at her saying “what’s wrong with you?” I feel bad because he doesn’t know what she has been through. She has been a science experiment for her entire life and abuse.
