    I commend Mr. Price for deciding to practice his business so everyone in his employ could earn a decent living.
    It takes a lot of inner strength to admit he initially judged his friend Valerie for possible money mismanagement, and discovered she was being very careful with her budget.
    He decided to practice what he advocated. Good job.

      I totally agree. Other people are critizing because they do not have a job working or someone like him and they make so so much less. I do understand this but I find happiness and joy for the people that work hard for him. I wish more employers would at least attempt to treat their employees with as much respect as some of them deserve. Less turnover and more loyalty which supports the customer base to be solid.

      @lies you Tell Well, if you're employed by Bezos, then you sort of do rely on him. He could take a pay cut and increase wages substantially, as this CEO did. Many of his employees make minimum wage while Bezos has nearly $200 billion.

    Imagine, a CEO who isn't greedy, who doesn't view his employees as cogs in the machine, who actually cares and invests in his employees, who takes a 90% pay cut to help facilitate bettering the lives of his loyal employees to the point they voluntarily took a pay cut during the pandemic to help the company stay afloat during the pandemic. The amazing part when they emerged from the other side of the pandemic and business got back to normal and even grew from that, he brought everyone's pay back to where it was AND repaid each employee the money they sacrificed during the voluntary pay cut back in full. There is a place in Heaven for Dan Price. If more CEOs were like him, this would be a better world. IMHO
    Treat others how you wish to be treated....
    May Gravity Payments continue to grow and flourish and be a shining light in this dark world.

    Yes that is commendable but I was an hourly wage worker and got ahead by working hard and investing smarter which I learned to do on my own. I didn't wait for anyone to give me a handout. Frankly, $70K per year today is kind of low to live a very comfortable life. As an hourly worker, not to brag, but I made much more than that 20+ years ago on a base salary much lower than $70K per year. If you expect your employer to make a better life for you, you've already failed.

    • @patrickpham6854
      @patrickpham6854 3 года назад +9

      Yes but you said it yourself. You were able to work hard and got yourself out because back when you worked you made more per hour (adjusted for inflation). As to now where people who work just as hard just as many hours won’t make enough to free them the time to learn about financial literacy or investment let alone the funds to do so.
      I believe if one person fails and can’t make ends meet that’s on them, if 60% of Americans can’t handle a $1000 emergency I believe it’s a systemic issue.
      www.google.com/amp/s/www.foxbusiness.com/money/most-americans-cant-afford-unexpected-expenses.amp
      I believe we or I’ll speak for myself I have failed the future generations. We had the greatest economy handed to us off the backs of our elders and we didn’t take the steps to ensure the same for our children. I believe we have lost our way.

      @@patrickpham6854 I pretty much agree with you. The workers who are where I was 13 years ago are making much more than I did per hour but the difference is I worked every available job when offered. There were many 14+ hour days. My belief is to give the next generation the best opportunity available.

      What’s your point? None of his employees expected anything from him; they certainly didn’t ‘brag’ about it. He saw that his employees had to go through what you went through, and was heartbroken as a result. He did this of this own volition.

      @@2-old-Forthischet Yeah, CEOs don't owe us a better life, but wouldn't you say that that's an inherently flawed way of thinking? As a society I believe we should push each other to do right by each other, because if we don't then we end up with greedy billionaires. Morality has to come into play at some point.
