I was up at my place there the week of the 4th. I had a VERY tough time getting on any type of a bite. It was very frustrating for me to hear about all this great fishing and i couldn't get into any. Oh well, that's fishing I guess.
Was going to take a boat ride tonight but if u are using trolling motor to get out, i am concerned about my i/o going out. My side is canal is cleaner than yours but the main channel is pretty bad. What do you think? Safe for my motor?
Thanks for the report. We’re staying in the keys 23-31st. I can troll in with the boat, but a little concerned about my Seadoos. I guess we’ll have to see.

There's definitely a bite window but it's getting better.

If you decide to take her out just really pay attention to your water pressure. Most motors have a limp mode they'll go into before things get to bad.

You fishing that trash fish slow on bottom or keeping it higher in the water column?
Low and slow for me.
