@@grantwilliams630 yeah I'm just glad 5up was still ahead of lud, never actually checked lud out before this and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth
Among Us is NOT suitable for tournaments, all the person has to do is target the best players of the lobby (Yeti and 5up) and decrease their points, they just need to do that every round and lower their chances of winning, even if they weren't impostors, they still target a confirmed crewmate by meta-gaming and using dumb logic, points system are actual bullshit in Among Us.
Well yeti and 5up still got 1st and 2nd
If you have a tournament with people on the same level it works well. Some of the people in this lobby were just there bc theyre popular, not actually top tier at the game
If you could do a point system that further penalises wrong votes then maybe it would persuade people not to vote 5up
yeah and they apparently “cant be at fault” because they “made a wrong decision and voted the wrong person off accidentally” like its so obvious already..
It actually is made for tournaments, but the point system is outrageous in this. 2 points per correct vote? I don’t get that
Even after all that he STILL got second. If he was just a little luckier he could've gotten first.
Who came first??
yeti came first.
@@meghanaprasad yeti im pretty sure
Ohh, I couldn’t see the whole tournament. Was it well deserved?
@Dj Ghoul TOUCH I know!! I commented before the video ended lol I feel stupid now
The problem is the points system too. If you get killed, you literally have no chance to get points. So all you do is kill off the best players (yeti, 5up) and then you have a chance of winning the points system later.
Like I said in another comment, they should add some points system for those who are dead. Maybe first to finish tasks get an extra 2pts. That way if you die first, you can at least claim 2 pts by speed running tasks.
I have no idea how it works but just by going off what was stated in the video and your comment, it is indeed bs. Crewmates that vote other crewmates out should be getting huge penalty points.
Ikr! I don't think its fair as its not your fault if you get killed :(
@@jessicamitton2236 exactly
I think if you die but the imposter gets voted off for the kill you should gain points for it
His rage and frustration is justified though, they literally went based on meta info and just dumb logic in general. I can see why he would get annoyed at that, cause hes quite a good among us player and him playing with the more 'rookie' players to put it nicely would cause a bit of frustration. But overall the lobby is nice about it so thats a good thing

5up is such a kind and genuine person who doesn't get mad a lot. His frustration is very understandable because their sus was just meta-gaming and he was very targeted.
True
i know right
I agree 5up is awesome. Genuine question though, when we’re they meta gaming? I must’ve missed smth
what op is trying to say is that bc 5up was recognised as one of the best players, he's targeted hard since it benefits to kill/vote him early as imp
@@maruke305 targeting a certain player because you know they're good could be considered as meta perhaps? I'm also wondering
This was really frustrating to watch. Him being one of, if not best player in the game, was literally the only reason he was targeted so much (He still placed 2nd, that's clear evidence). Among us tournaments are bullshit because of things like this.

Tournament was based on points (not sure how the points work) and he lost a lot of points getting voted out as crew
@@saratroskot oh crap I misunderstood your message, sorry I thought you meant he deserved to be angry
Maybe crewmates should lose -2 or Even -3 when ejecting a crewmate. That should making votes like this less likely
Very true
I think in a different tournament, this is how it works but it makes crew mates want to encourage other crew mates to vote wrong
I think the entire system is broken. Any strategy should be equal as long as it wins you the game. Voting out a crew mate to make sure the impostor is dead should be a viable strategy and not be punished like this imo
@ yea rip those poor souls smh
A bad vote should be a -1, a bad eject should be a -2 on top of it. Only exception would be if it's a 1 for 1, in which it should be a 0.
The real problem is that the game is not suited for this kind of pointed tournament. The point structure introduces incentives that will make the overall game experience worse for the people involved. It's just an attempt to make an esport out of a game that really shouldn't be one, just because it's popular.
Yep, completely agree.
it's not like esports, is more like just trying to make the game more interesting and entertainment to watch.
It is good that in recent tournaments the point system has improved

Among us IS NOT MADE FOR TOURNAMENTS! IT JUST DOESN'T WORK
It can be but the idea of points for killing or winning and impostor or crew mates doesn't reflect the game statistics, it needs judging from people really
i completely agree. most party games are meant for competition and usually the competition is what ruins the game. some games can be competitive and good like smash bros but others just dont work
well actual skill can only be measured by the winrate after a large amount of games played so a points system is meant to make games more efficient, although it doesn't work well
yeah, I agree, its a party game. but i think every multi-player game can be played competitively and in the end of the day it still among us. but the problem here is in a social deduction game it's not clear what to object, and the most of the time the point system can be really circumstantial. it's really ruin the whole purpose of the party game. and i think in away it's toxic in extend it kinda encourage players to be eager, less respectful to the other player if that make sense
Dude, chill
its really annoying for 5up he has the best logic in every lobby he goes in and gets voted out because hes too good hes a great crew and he deserves to be angry with them jelly is just annoying asf

5up admitted that yeti is a better crewmate than him. You can support him but please don't hold him on a pedestal like that and downplay everyone else.

@@freshswagga100 and getting targeted every round will cost you the game no matter how good you are
I disagree
@@freshswagga100 That'd reflect in their winrate over time, you just need to mix up the lobbies more.
And if you really need a scoring system, you need to find one that for example realises that dying as a crewmate can be game winning.
Scoring is BS. They shouldnt doc point for being kicked as crew. If you were able to sus out just the imposter as a crewmate and get voted out, then you should get point for only susing out the imposter.
I absolutely love that Ludwig came last after this.
They should give points to crew on completing the tasks earlier. And surviving longest. This way grouping would be reduced. And people who get targetted also get a chance to win.
Surviving longest no because they would still kill God Tier players
When hafu hosts she gives points to crew who finish tasks first

Seems like a shit way to rank players if you can just target one person to grief out of being able to win.
Imagine if m0xyy was in this situation. He’d have cursed out Ludwig and Jelly before Ludwig started shouting at the top of his lungs, yelled at everyone to skip or lose a point and explained in some very unkind words as to why he couldn’t have killed at the rock in Polus. If the vote went through at all, he’d call out Ludwig specifically after the game ended and confront him. If this was anyone with a bit less decorum, Ludwig would have had to have sucked it up and stop accusing 5up (assuming that someone else is in 5up’s situation, say, m0xyy or Train or even Punz or Dean) with bullshit arguments that could be disproved by a toddler.
I mean, if m0xyy was in a tournament where he had $12K on the line, he’d throw politeness to the wind and call Ludwig fucking dumb before he actually disproved Ludwig’s terrible arguments. This is what happens when you’re facing malicious players who’re ready to exploit your scruples.
This... is the equivalent of playing an LoL tournament against Faker with MM strats.
Just because you can meta-game doesn’t mean you should, and this is a perfect example of that. Ludwig used some pretty flawed arguments there which, while giving us some likely scenarios, are not a good tactic in a high-stakes tournament.
Then there’s the issue of the tournament itself.
If you’re 5up or Yetiapoc and you’re a crewmate, you’re going to be targeted and killed first because the impostors need to kill the smartest members of the town first. And if you’re 5up or Yetiapoc and you’re an impostor, people are going to vote you out before you hit 6 players or 5 players because the fact that you’re alive after all this time is a dead give-away, whilst a bit unlikely nevertheless and dependent on luck.
Skill doesn’t matter if you’re a skilled player who’s been assigned as a crewmate because you’re playing an unequal game. It’s like giving Shroud a bottle of rum to fight against timthetatman while he’s got an AWP and a Five-Seven.
Good players stand to lose this game, every time, no matter how you slice it. Save for some really dumb impostor plays, there’s no way 5up and Yetiapoc will make it past round 3.
@@aaronfang6965 A judging system seems like the only possible alternative here. There’d be some kinks that’d have to be ironed out, but even so, the game isn’t cut out for competitive play. There’s quite a lot of things that can set you off when you’re playing a social deduction game, and spite and fear are really hard to pin down in a game where every 90 seconds of talking, you have at least three people talking.
They should include a rule where if someone gets killed round one multiple times, or atleast an unusually high number of times, they get a set number of points.
Yes, and I feel like the rest of the people in the lobby also has to lose 1 or 2 points..

Its important to see how people play in ALL lobbies... I appreciate the person 5UP is in all scenarios. I've watched some people from Toast's lobbies like Train and Ludwig in other lobbies and have been really let down by their behavior and the type of people they turn into
Even after suffering so much, he was able to win something. Honestly amazing, karma's got his back.
5up is one of those people who has a personality so infectious that you love to see him win and feel sad when you see him get frustrated.
this is genuinely infuriating to watch
if they’re gonna have an among us tournament, it needs to be 100% anonymous. random names, random colors and voice changers. it’s just too biased. when it’s not anonymous, it’s less about who the best players are, and more about who can kill the best players first.
And he still got 2nd place and ludwig was last lol
This just looks like everyone is sabatoging him honestly. Like he gets cleared then gets ejected or in other games gets killed first anyway. that's kinda rude, but also, this is what happens to me a lot in public matches. I avoid the groups because I don't want to be stack killed, then everyone goes "brown sus" and they forfeit the match by ejecting me 🙃 Or I just get killed first in the first like 30 seconds. Every time 🙃
And this is why we don’t try to turn party games into competitive sweat-fests
@Dangerous Thinking the points are inherently flawed. People start to target high level players, and it’s really easy to do in party games especially. It makes it near impossible for someone who is good at the game to preform their best.
5up killed it despite being targeted quite a bit. Just goes to show that he's pretty good!
I respect him so much for being so chill and respectful despite having to deal with this shit.. I’d be frustrated beyond belief yet he’s sitting there being quiet or voicing his annoyance rather than flat out raging
Main point ludwig made him lost 6 points resulting in him losing money to Yeti
Yep. sad
Sad
they should definitely have a system where whenever a person dies first in a row they can get compensation points.
At the end, when 5up says he's going to internalise it, what he means is, he's going to go on a killing spree. John Wick style.
So what we learned is Ludwig knew he wasn’t going to win and tried to take down other people. Source: rankings. I feel like these tournaments shouldn’t penalize dying as crew mate so much since there’s literally nothing you can do about it. Plus when you have votes on 3 where one person has no information, that should not be worth plus 2 or minus 5 based on a pure guess.

Seeing 5up type out "I'm so sad." is so sad.
Our boy still finished in 2nd place 🥳💖
I thought Ludwig targeting 5up makes sense if it brings Ludwig up in the standings. But watching him be last by a lot just makes his actions more questionable
Although there is merit to this comment, I think the bigger issue is poor tournament design with regard to the point system. If it were possible to accumulate points as a dead crewmate then that would mitigate targeting.
This is basically a random lobby on voting with who ever is louder.
The plain enjoyment I got when Ludwig finished last. I like him ngl, but he played so disgustingly at the end, targeting 5up that I really enjoyed seeing him at the last place. He deserved it
They can't catch him when he's imposter so they choose random times to sus him and possibly get it right. Its kinda sad
And this is why the rules are flawed cuz best players being targeted and potentially losing points for things uncontrollable to them doesn't justify and make sense at all

Any points system that encourages inting is inherent flawed. An imposter targeting a good player to lower points is good, but a crewmate targeting a good player to lower points is bad game/tournament design
I tried so hard not to laugh when he said “THIS IS BULLSHIT”
Dude... The impostors doesn't even care if everyone sees them killing 5up, just to get him less points... honestly
"That's minus 2..."
Ludwig's logic was 100% accurate in that first game, 5up's just unlucky in that situation because everything he said was accurate. Assuming both impostors would vote 5up if he was crew is a good strategy, only reason it didn't work was because the impostors messed up
Maybe they should add a new way to gain points in these like say points for finishing tasks? I think with that, it's gonna be more interesting to say the least.
True
Like maybe for longer, more difficult tasks like Simon Says there would be more points for people who finished faster i guess... idk...
Tbh unless the developers make ghosts be able to more than just do tasks and pass through walls, targeting is gonna be one hell of an issue lol
In my eyes the only way an among us tournament would work is if it was anonymous(like voice changers/in game chat, using an alias)to avoid targeting and if points were taken off when a crew mate was wrongfully voted off to discourage wrong votes
There should be a +2 +3 +5 or something if you get killed first or get voted off as a crewmate
Could be a solution, but I think it could also be exploited pretty easily.
this isnt even just a 5up thing. the 2nd clip where he gets voted out for an irrelevant reason happens to us all, even as crewmates

They should have made it so finishing your tasks as a crewmate would grant you 3 points to your score. Not only would this make it so ghosts would have a chance to earn points, it also gives you an advantage because it allows you to complete your tasks quicker due to...well being a ghost. Plus the earlier you die the better chance you have to finish your tasks so it could actually be a bit of a plus in the right scenario.

This is why among us shouldnt be competitive... first of all it leads to people playing egoistic, second of all it makes people rage and only care about the price like 5up did
People have to remember that these are just a few clips out of countless of games that they have played that day, so without full context you can’t really call this “targeting”.
