Battle Cry of Freedom (George Root, 1862) on new Morris A5 mandolin

Today I received my birthday gift to myself, a handmade A5 mandolin from master mandolin craftsman Howard (Sonny) Morris based in Irrigon, Oregon. This is the first song I played on it, captured to document my currently atrocious technique so that I can compare after I get better :)
This tune was one of the big anthems for the Union during the Civil War, and was used extensively in the epic, landmark series "The Civil War" by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, forming one of the major musical themes of the series (along with Jay Ungar's Ashokan Farewell). Rather fitting for these trying times...
