Hats off for your work on bringing this back to life and developing an interface to current disk technology without destroying the original. Looking back at previous videos I realised I actually worked on this particular unit when I was an engineer at BBC Elstree back in the '90s and can shed a few details on its history. It was 100% reliable (give or take a few pens and the occasional crash) and was left switched on 24/7 from early 1989 until it was finally replaced by a V series in approx 1995. The first thing the new owner had to do was to fix the startup circuit in the power supply! It was used to prepare the graphics for "Newsroom South East", the then regional programme for the London area as the images on the hard drive will show when you get that going. There was also a 80Mbyte removable storage drive that went with the kit. I have some documentation and a set of diagnostics ROMS that fit the computer 2 board which may be of use to you. Amongst other things you get to see low level disk activity. (I also have a classic paintbox bought at auction in 2000 for the princely sum of £5 though it's been a few years since I dared power it up)

Amazing 👍 maybe sometime in the future that DE10 Nano could simulate the whole machine so we can all experience it on MiSTer!

There has been progress made on the MAME emulator too, still no where near finished though: twitter.com/TheMogMiner/status/1442097144639496194

Anyone tried running a Hawk Drive from a Centurion Minicomputer in one of these machines.

No, Paintbox uses SMD disks. I don't think SMD is compatible with Finch, although they seem to be similar interfaces.
