I just want to say thanks for this video series. I've been pulling my hair out trying to get my 450 kit airborne for 2 years and now after following your directions I now understand the technology and I'm becoming a competent pilot. Thanks!
Thanks so much. For years I have been a Bind-and-Crash enthusiast who had a garage full of broken toys. I recently decided to start fixing them and your videos were the key!!!!!
Excellent Videos from start to finish, BAR NONE !!! I now have a better understanding and confidence as well, in setting up my TX,SERVOS, AND GYRO, THANK YOU PROFESSOR TONY !
Just wanted to send out a BIG THANKS to RcHelp for this great information. I'm a noob and i just finished my GT500, followed the video instructions, and my heli was flawless! i still need to tweak the gyro some but the thing flew with no problems but tail creep. Man A Big Thumbs Up to you guys ! Thanks so Much. P.S. just got my Align 500XT and my MD500E heli fuse! Cant wait to get better and fly that thing! I've been flying planes sense 78 but man, Helis are soooo cool. Again Thanks So Much! IF your a noob like me, follow these instructions and you heli is Dam Near guaranteed to fly first time! Good Luck Everyone And Happy Hovering!
It is my pleasure Jeff. One thing I would like to note, the HK401b gyro will always have a drift issue. If I remember correctly (it's been a few years lol), that is a piezoelectric gyro and you need to let it acclimate to the temp where you are flying it. So if you are in a house that is 70ºF and you step outside to a temp of 95ºF, you should let that helicopter sit out there for about 10-15 minutes so the gyro can acclimate to the temp. This will reduce the tail drift slightly, but not all the way. You can also fill the inside of the gyro with some hot glue (the cooler stuff, don't use the 'hot' hot glue lol). This will help keep that board from vibrating around inside. Of course you could also stuff in a piece of foam in there to test with as well. But my suggestion, look around on ebay for an Align GP780 gyro. This is what I run on my only flybar helicopter and it is rock solid! Hope this helps. www.Rc-Help.com
Tony, I am impressed. I am just getting into RC Heli's and Your videos are the best that I've seen for me. The content is really helpful. Thanks for your work to create them.
hey tony, just wanted to let you know that your a good inspiration to all of us "newbies" i bought a storm 450 platinum with all the good stuff (align servos and 3gx gyro, flybarless) and i also purchased an hk450 and built it with the turnigy mg90s servos and hk401b gyro, and if you ask me, the hk450 does just as good, if not better then my RTF storm450!! just wanted to say thanks for all your awesome vids and keep it up!! P.S- building an hk500 CMT!! just waiting for it to get here!! ;)
Just a quick thumbs up and a thank you for what you do. I have been watching your DX6i and heli set up vids for probably a year or so and every time I re-watch I pick up something helpful. I bought a basket case Blade 400 last year came with a 6i and I use the GY48 on the 400 with good results. However, I now fly one that must be limited production collectable with some parts made of blue steel and some from cheap glass cause this Blade 500 mechanicals can take a beating but blades body and bolt-on stuff not so much. Going to your web site cause I have some questions.
I am putting together a shuttle zx from years ago. it has never been in the air and never been fired up. I got from a friend who bought it years ago and never used it. I'd like to see it fly. it's a classic.
Tony - RC Help Crew, Many Thanks for the DX6i walk through, I've just setup the Trex600 - and am at the stage of test and maiden take off. I want to say ALIKE many others, Thank you Very Much chap for your time, I was wanting to fully setup from scratch as it were, This guide made is a piece of p**s for me. - Once again - Top job. Roo
