he didnt special summon it from gy, but from extra deck. BWAD can be special summoned from extra deck by banishing 1 black wing dragon (if i recall correctly, if not, any blackwing non tuner synchro monster) and 1 tuner synchro blackwing monster from gy or field, this considered as synchro summon (you can normal synchro summon it too)
