La historia de la “U”, es una trayectoria marcada por ídolos y títulos que lo encumbran, como el equipo de fútbol más laureado del Perú y uno de los más respetados en el continente. Hace ya más de 85 años, cuando Lima y sus 300 mil habitantes eran deslumbrados por el cine mudo, el fox trot y las carreras de caballos, un grupo de estudiantes de la Universidad Mayor de San Marcos, tuvo la iniciativa de plasmar su pasión por aquel maravilloso deporte recientemente importado por los ingleses: el fútbol.
Así, el 07 de agosto de 1924, el Club Federación Universitaria de Fútbol, vio la luz, impulsado por los más altos ideales de un grupo de jóvenes, que demostraron siempre el perfil solidario y deportivo de una institución, la cual hoy en día, se presta de ser la que mayor afición arrastra a los estadios. No por algo se dice que los hinchas de la “U”, son la mitad del Perú más uno.
Muchos nombres y jugadores han defendido su estilo y vestido su gloriosa camiseta pero, ciertamente, uno destaca en particular como el más importante, el ídolo de ídolos: el gran cañonero “Lolo” Fernández. En la década de los 70’s, la “U” nos regaló un subcampeonato Libertadores de América (hoy, Copa Santander) y a lo largo de toda su existencia institucional, muchos campeonatos locales.
Esta es solo una breve reseña, que solo pretende ser el preámbulo de una selección musical única, donde podremos escuchar las canciones más emblemáticas, como también, las arengas más representativas interpretadas por un selecto grupo de barristas de “La Trinchera Norte”, el verdadero sostén de la hinchada crema.

The story of the “U” is a path marked by idols and titles that elevate it as the most successful soccer team in Peru and one of the most respected on the continent. For over 85 years, when Lima and 300 thousand people were dazzled by the silent film, fox trot and horse races, a group of students from the Universidad Mayor de San Marcos, took the initiative to translate their passion for this wonderful sport, recently imported by the British: soccer.
Thus on August 07, 1924, the Club Federacion Universitaria de Futbol (Soccer University Federation Club), saw the light, driven by the highest ideals of a group of young people, who always demonstrated solidarity and sporting profile of an institution. And today it is the one with more fans in the stadiums, therefore it is said that the “U” fans are one half of Peru plus one.
Many names and players have defended their style and dressed their glorious shirt but certainly one in particular stands out as the most important, the idol of idols, and the great striker “Lolo” Fernandez. In the decade of 70’s, the “U” gave us a Libertadores de America sub championship (today, Santander Cup) and numerous local tournaments along its institutional existence.
This is only a brief and only intended as a preamble to a single musical selection, where we hear the most emblematic songs, as well as the most representative cheers performed by a select group of fans “La Trinchera Norte” (North Trench), the real support of the fans. Y Dale “U” ... (Go U)
