Wish you were here today....except it would cause you to be glad you aren't. Rest peacefully.

I miss him..along with everyone who enjoyed his
Wit and clarity of politicians.and all their double talk
He was a landscape of panoramic vision.able to see the broader spectrum..and call it by its proper name!

He also mentioned the Lincoln project in one of his videos. What's up with this guy? Is he a communist?

Gore Vidal has been dead for a long time. He has nothing to do with the Lincoln Project

At 40 mins, his urgent suggestion to circumvent the MSM via video cassettes, is ironic...given that the net arrived just over a decade later, and has achieved his goal......wonderful....what a mind.

Actually, I think you mean the World Wide Web, and it appeared only two years later, and had already developed quite a large contingent of people active in public fora by 1995, and it isn't ironic, but rather, prescient: his videocassette vision describes an analogous precursor to the web that would later follow, at least in terms of the propaganda part. The web does promise actual dialog, unlike the monologues of radio and videocassettes, but in practice there are so many online echo chambers, and there is so much confirmation bias, that real dialog rarely ever happens. But your point is well taken.

Todd Merrell Can you imagine what life would be like with only the mainstream media, where even anti-war voices like Keith Olberman have gone full neo-liberal. Or is it neo-conservative? I can’t tell the difference.

    34:40...Henry Clay...isolationist....
36:45....war on communism converted to war on drugs...a police state...
40:38...we will have also helped create that educated citizenry, without which Jefferson felt that life liberty and the pursuit of happiness was not possible...reveal to a doubting world what we still can be.

The pursuit of property was the original draft. The pursuit of happiness is vague. The pursuit of property is true happiness but they couldn’t have that, now could they?
