- The car is finally in one piece. At least for a short time. We put it together so we ensure all the panels fit together properly, with good gaps. Then we sanded away most of the old bodywork and got it ready for the epoxy primer. So she is white now... almost :)

Excellent to see it at this stage!
Glad to see it coming along
Great work father and son, lovely to see.
I agree. It's a pain to mask up a car! But it's like a 6 year old's Christmas morning unwrapping and seeing it all one color finally, isn't it? 😅
Wonderful Efforts!
Nice job guys you got the Mazda in primer
Good luck with the driving test! I bought my NA Miata in 1991 and she's still running fine.
Great job guys it’ll be finished soon.
Well I imagine Nick has his license now and will really focus on getting that Mazda on the road.
Looks great. Hope Nick passed his test. Keep the updates coming. Thanks
I feel really grateful to not have to see that green anymore! 😂.Great job you two! That car has come a long way. Thanks.
Good Luck with your test Nick!
Inspirational! Demonstrating the sequence of restoration steps has been a very big help to me on my project. Thanks to you both and best of luck on the test.
Bravo on reaching this milestone on the Miata; good luck on the driver's test!
Heating the panel helps when rolling fenders!
Truly excellent work again with fantastic results. You both are and should be proud. Hopefully you can move along quickly, now that Nik has his G2 ( we hope) if not it will come soon but I bet he had success, just as he has learning to how to work on the car.!
White, as I'm sure you know was one of the original MK1 colours, in tribute to the racing nations of the 60s & 70s
White for Japan, silver for Germany, green for Britain, red for Italy and my favourite - mariner blue for France.
Sorry if you already know that.
Here in the UK, MK1 Miatas are starting to increase in value and there's a strong classic following for them. So assuming the same happens in Canada, it's good you're choosing one of the original 5 colours 😊
Looks great in one colour. What a great first car.
Doesn’t matter much with the primer, but for future don’t stop your spray pattern at the panel gaps. Better to go onto next panel by 8” or so. This prevents build up on the panel edge and later with paint allows for a better colour blend.
Great to see Nick's skills coming on. The car looks great. Just recently went through this stage on my MGB, so I know how good that feels when it comes back to one colour.
Wow. You guys are crackealacking... Looks great.....
Looking good Elin & Nic! I seem to recall you bought an inflatable spray booth a while back, or was it Tush’s?
First 😉 It’s looking great! All the hard work is paying off. On to the next stage!
ELIN! (Please note frustrated shouty-ness here) NOW that you have Nick’s lovely car in primer PLEASE DO NOT leave it like that for the next ( GT6 ) ten years to get the damned thing on the road before Nick hits 30!
Extreme 'crackalacking' which has achieved (among many things), me not hearing that old saying in my head ; Red & Green must never be seen" (together). Hope part two of the driving test went well Nik..
Looks good. Will we see your inflatable paint booth in action with this car?
What happen to the inflatable paint booth? Its coming along great!
