- A parade held in Port Elizabeth in February 2016. The parade took place in Beach Road (with the podium at the corner of Beach and Brookeshill Road). It consisted of three parts: the first part was a ceremonial parade where the National Ceremonial Guard marched to the podium and waited for the arrival of the Commander-in-Chief of the SANDF, President Jacob Zuma. The ceremonial part of the parade consisted of a salute (including a 21 Gun salute and a salute flypast), an inspection, a medal ceremony, a formal address of the parade by the Commander-in-Chief and a flag ceremony. The second part of the parade was a march past of about 800 soldiers, airmen and sailors. The third part of the parade (a part of which is depicted on the video) was a drive-past of about 80 military vehicles.

I love the SANDF vehicles. The rooikat is probably my favourite.
Now in peacetime, South Africa has hundreds more generals than when we were at war. Why?
Want in 1994 het swartes in u land aan bewind gekom!
Ahem...it's called the gravy train my friend...U know the saying, hurry up and waste time..... and money.. Known as Shosalosa... Hahaa...
All picking their noses and eating it for breakfast. These idiots could not “run a bath” - how can they run a military machine like the SADF? P W must be turning in his grave - looking at all these idiots capitalising on his military brain.
Some very good engineers in South Africa and they make some excellent home grown military equipment .
A shame they don't sell more of it .
Very nice army parade,I like the armored vehicles.
The Voortrekker Army.
This vehicles are between 40-70 years old...we don't have an army anymore...
You dont need one...who want to attac that shithole ???
@@truth-Hurts375 true..40 years ago it was different..
Just about every vehicle in this parade were developed in the 1980's....
Rocket Man So? That's basically the same in most countries. Except for the US, Western Europe, Russia and a a few Asian countries, most armies are still using 80s technology. Even the Russians still use 80s hardware. A lot of eastern European NATO members don't even have a functioning air force or navy.
South Africa really doesnt need to pour money into the military we are allies with all major powers and neighbors
A lot even older than the 80s. Ratels were introduced in the late 70 circa 77/78.
Even USA,Russia and China some of their vehicles are 80's.
All you need to do with those caspers is just put in a modern gear box and engine and maintain them well. The could also fit in modern equipment like night vision and latest communication and navigation systems which I am sure they have done already.
No need to waiste too much money especially when we have more important issues like educating the South African people and improving health care in this country.
Lol, I drove a Kwevoel in the 80s, cant believe they still around.
happybiker when u were killing unarmed en innocent ppl?
@@mfaneloritilili3749 How about you then?
Is it even possible to find a Yputube video abt the SANDf without butthurt people who can't accept change and realize that improvement is possible
Nope. Every single one there's a bunch of hateful old toppies coming to complain about how amazing the Apartheid government and its military was (they weren't even THAt good if you look at the stats, they're still blinded by the propaganda from the day).
Impossible, racists work full time.
😂😂😂😂We are veterans as well.Dont expect you to understand. What year were you born?
The kleptocratic, incompetant, racist anc twats are not an improvement, can't even keep the lights on.
Well that's the point. Yes change is possible if almost everyone in the government wasn't stealing money. Simple.
Did development of new systems just cease in 1990s? I would be embarrassed to be in any of those
old equipment. They are replacing the ratel though. The amry is going to be neglected for some time
You just jealous.
We have new armoured vehicles like the Mbombe.
Actually what do we need this things for because we don't have enemies and we no longer have to protect apartheid and white priviledge and murder defenseless women and Children in the township?
What we need is more investment in education.
Iggy 😂 are you a professional comedian? SA has become a 3rd world since black government moved in, one could supply the finest educators to try and educate the masses, that would be a waste of time one can never educate STUPID!!
David Scholfield Maybe they don't want to show you white supremacists their new weaponry😃 Maybe they just trying to give you supremacy boys some false hope that you can take down the Army someday😂😂😂
Iggy : get one
SA halfsurrounded with halfassed bandits armed with rusted AKs. For whom all that firepower?
More investment is needed. more tanks
Relax about tanks, we have more than you think
South Africa never needed tanks, we had excellent Armoured corps crews (i served in 2SSB Zeerust) who using first Eland 90's then Ratel 90's took out may Russian T series tanks during the border war years. The Rooikat is more than capable of defeating any tank in use throughout Africa today. Tanks don't win the battle, its a competent crew with quality training.
If this is recently then I can say that these clowns can only drive them. Not sure they vcan do anything else with them.
¡82
If only they invested even more on R and D those cANCer looters
We can spend the money on waaaay more important shit
А где белые люди?
You Rhodie... Why the Russian?? Or are you Dave Westerhout??
@@royallen1711 I am a Russian who loves Rhodesia.
What a joke.
