How can I fade the edges of a picture in Silhouette Studio, is a question I get often. There is no tool within the program that will fade the edge but there are hacks and 3rd party apps. In this video I will show how to use the fade masks from HS INK Digital.

I bought the fade file but they don’t seem to have the same ‘foggy’ edge as the blue one in your example. Can you help me with this?
Hi Monica, in the lastest versions of Silhouette Studio there is auto png trace. You can turn it off under settings or open the Silhouette file provided with all the colors and copy paste
I just purchased the fade masks and followed your video instructions. Nothing happened. I am using business edition. Help!
What do mean by nothing happened? Did the file not open?
@@SilaholicsAnonymous Yes the file opened and downloaded with no problem. The fade mask did not fade the image/object!
@@my3grans it is not meant to actually fade an image. It gives the appearance or a faded look only when layed on top and at the edge of an image.
@@SilaholicsAnonymous to be more specific it did neither one in giving a faded appearance look when layed on top and at the edge of an image. Thank you anyway, I found a workaround.
@@my3grans if you are using 4.4 or higher and have the auto png trace on the file will come in as a blob. You have you use the provided Silhouette file with all the colors and copy paste or turn off auto png trace .
Can you please help me understand why saving a Png in Silhouette with a sublimation image it leaves white edges really bad
Because Silhouette Studio does not do well with saving transparent pixels that are onto of solid areas
I'm lost when you hit the right click and paste in front then shift and click the fade. What am i pasting in front? I can never get this to work. I bought your fade bars months ago
I copied the outline first
At 6:17 I say to make a copy (ctrl C or right click and copy)
@@SilaholicsAnonymous gotcha. I missed the part about the outline. I don't know the steps you took to get the outline.. but i did a offset.. put it at 0.0 then made a copy and followed your steps and i was finally able to crop it..

I've literally been trying to do this for months and can't get it to work 🤷🏾♂️. It has to be 1 step I'm not doing correctly.
I think you’re trying to follow and use her short keys,instead of holding downshift and so on you should just use the modify panel instead. I’ve been using Silhouette 12 years and used to work with a few designers within Sil and learning with shift keys can confuse some new ppl so making sure you’re using SVG NOT PNG and go straight to Sil, modify, subtract you will catch on faster. If I didn’t already know what I was doing I wouldn’t catch on to her videos very well because she teaches more intermediate than beginner. She’s great just fast at teaching again she’s on a time limit also lol
