I laughed and cried, I had so many emotions, I think I might watch it again in a few days. So beautiful. Also I realized Avi has a hard time consoling Sandy cause he did not learn that skill from his father. His father did not console his wife when she began crying.
That doesn't mean his father has any less love for his wife (Avi's mother), just clearing that up. Some people, especially from the older generations are that way, can't explain why they tend to be like that.
Who told you he did consoled her? He put his arm on her shoulder from behind, shouldn't that count? Everyone has a different way of consoling each other, we shouldn't jump the gun based on our own assumptions.

P.S.: I have lived with Chinese people and have met them on few occasions and even had lunch once with them (traditional Chinese home made food- so different from what you get in restaurants) while I was living in UK. They are genuinely good people, very warm and they have a helping mentality towards even strangers (talking from a personal experience after I missed my last bus to my hostel in a remote town after visiting a Chinese restaurant... the owners made sure that I reached home safely by driving me to the hostel which was quite far away. I was not expecting this because I was waiting at the bus stop quite a distance away from the restaurant. So this Chinese gentleman comes in his car, stops by the bus stop and says "I think you missed the last bus. So my wife told me to pick you up from the stop and drop you at the hostel! He also gave a parcel full of potato chips for me.)🙏
Really my tears have run on my nose when I heard real story narrated by Avi parents and Sandy's emotional feeling for it. We appreciate Avi parents respect and consent for their son proposal. Sandy is so sensitive and emotional towards her love on elders by nature. There is similarity in between indian and Chinese culture in respecting elders.
