    If x>3, the x = 4, 5, 6,...
    Input 4 as into the question to get 42/13. Check the one with 42/13 in the options if you input 4. Option C and D are out because they won't give you fraction. Option A will give a smaller numerator

    What is the point of assuming x>3? I dont see a mathematical resaon why this condition has to be satisfied for this to be true

      Its a red herring to make you spend more time on the question

      It's because the final answer, B, only has the restriction that x cannot equal -2.5, as when we simplify the question we get the answer B, but we get the restrictions x cannot equal -2,-3 or -2.5 as we go along, and the restriction serves to make sure that these would truly be equal, when technically, without it, the answer would be none of them as they have different restrictions and are thus different functions.

      Yes I know, but x>3 seemed so random. Why not x>-2 or x>0, that was my point
