  • AIG-ALS Technical Meeting Series : Tourmaline Breccia Pipes Associated with Intrusion-Related Copper Deposits-Examples from Latin America
    Speaker: Doug Kirwin
Tourmaline breccia pipes are widely distributed in the Andes and are associated with a variety of intrusion-related copper deposits, including giant porphyries.
Careful observations of textural features, geochemistry and geometry may provide practical vectors for porphyry copper and polymetallic precious metal exploration.

This is just a fantastic talk on tourmaline breccia pipes by a guy who has probably seen more of them than anyone else in the world.

Do you think we should re-interpret the Sudbury 'impact zone' , because of its oval shape, and mineralisation, to be a breccia pipe like these you are discussing.?
