Lord Buddha told about these realms so that one would wholeheartedly cultivate wholesome kamma, observe the sila and achieve liberation and when prompted to do unwholesome activities one would remember the gruesome drawbacks. The Buddha's description of hell is not eternal, contrary to the Christian belief. Either way it's as simple as to do good and to abstain from evil, just as in other religions.

Buddhism believe that the people with lots of sins and bad karma will be in hell, the Buddha Gautama and Bodhisattva doesn't want all buddhist go to hell so that's why Buddhism exist to teach all living beings to be good
@@dovinghtaukishi that's make no sense. If they punished forever in hell then there would be no reincarnations. It's something abrahamic religions type theory. I have read books of buddha but he never mentioned this types of things.
