Thank you Eric for being a great Moderator . I have always enjoyed your input.. I have always found that we as SDA have a hard time discussing Finances and Sex in our churches. This quarterly came from a more liberation theology point of view, so I believe we missed some aspects in real stewartship and capital increase/preservation to spread the gospel. I believe that with God's guidance with the inheritance he has put in our care, we can quicken God's return. This coming from a financial planner.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto You. All what things? Food, shelter, clothing. How many pairs of shoes/sneakers does one need? How many dresses or suits? How many rooms? How many vehicles? In an opulent society such as ours many think we must have closets full of clothing: cupboards full of dishes, pantries full of food, shoe racks full of shoes, etc. Most of the world doesn't enjoy such luxuried! And Paul exhorts to be content with food and raiment. Not saying that it's a sin to have more than food and clothing but showing that we can be content with a LOT LESS! Some one said a person is content when his/her YEARNING POWER EQUALS his/her EARNING POWER. Basically we are content with what we can afford! Lord, please help us to invest more in spreading the Everlasting Gospel than we do in our temporal wants driven by worldly ideals. Amen.

An Atheist believes that a hospital should be built instead of a church. An atheist believes that deed must be done instead of prayer said. An atheist strives for involvement in life and not escape into death.
