I really needed this today. Yesterday one of my managers at work committed suicide and he left all of us feeling empty and sad and so many other emotions. I didn’t know him very well but it still really hurts. I’ve been in that dark place before and suffered from anxiety and depression for years. Fortunately tho I’ve been able to overcome it and fight it mainly because of the people around me giving me support. Life does get better, but in order for it to get better you need to fight and accept support. When he mentioned oversleeping and still being drained, not wanting to take care of oneself, those things really hit me. Many people don't realize that those are signs of depression. The people around them convince them that those things are bad habits that are the person's fault and act as if they can be fixed instantly. I think it is do important that parents learn about their child's favorite music. My kids were surprised when they figured out that I would listen to the songs they posted and if I couldn't catch the lyrics I would look them up. I told them music was my therapist. When they got older, they sang kaoke and would sing songs they wanted me to hear. About a month b4 my youngest daughter passed (age 33) she introduced me to "One More Light" by Lincoln Park. The line where he says "one more chair in the kitchen than you need" hits hard now.

Having gone through depression all my life, it never got easier for me. In fact, I’ve only recently fell back into it and it’s hard, even with medication. Being extremely introverted, it makes it more difficult to express thoughts, feelings, or what I’m thinking. Even to my own wife. I’m glad you made this video. “I don’t want to end my life, I just don’t want to live my life” I hate to admit it that I know that feeling and at some points I just don’t want to keep on going, then I tell myself how dumb I am for thinking that because I’m probably over exaggerating to myself and it makes me hate myself more and more and makes me feel guilty and selfish since I’m not even out of my teens yet. It just goes worse and worse. Then there are some points that are good and I enjoy and make me love life at the moment but they are never enough to compare to the bad. I try to see the good in my life but it’s hard, I’ve attempted 3 times and thought about it more times than I can count. As someone living with depression, this video said it better than anything out there. It's not just feeling sad or down. It is the persistent tiredness and hopelessness. No matter what you do or how you try to fix it, it will always be a part of you. Just like the ending of the video where you see "depression" delivering the parcel. It keeps coming back and everyday is an internal battle that no one understands. The best thing anyone can do about it is to seek help and support. Be it your friends, your parents, therapists, doctors or support group, just speak to anyone you can trust and you will find at least 1 person that understands you.

And there was this song in Spanish that describes the feeling perfectly it says "I want to sleep tired and never wake up" but after prayer 🙏 meditation, positive affirmations and listening to positive audios on a daily bases things have truly gotten better. I really needed this today. Yesterday one of my managers at work committed suicide and he left all of us feeling empty and sad and so many other emotions. I didn’t know him very well but it still really hurts. I’ve been in that dark place before and suffered from anxiety and depression for years. Fortunately tho I’ve been able to overcome it and fight it mainly because of the people around me giving me support. Life does get better, but in order for it to get better you need to fight and accept support. I think it is do important that parents learn about their child's favorite music. My kids were surprised when they figured out that I would listen to the songs they posted and if I couldn't catch the lyrics I would look them up. I told them music was my therapist. When they got older, they sang kaoke and would sing songs they wanted me to hear. About a month b4 my youngest daughter passed (age 33) she introduced me to "One More Light" by Lincoln Park. The line where he says "one more chair in the kitchen than you need" hits hard now.

Having gone through depression all my life, it never got easier for me. In fact, I’ve only recently fell back into it and it’s hard, even with medication. Being extremely introverted, it makes it more difficult to express thoughts, feelings, or what I’m thinking. Even to my own wife.

I hate to admit it that I know that feeling and at some points I just don’t want to keep on going, then I tell myself how dumb I am for thinking that because I’m probably over exaggerating to myself and it makes me hate myself more and more and makes me feel guilty and selfish since I’m not even out of my teens yet. It just goes worse and worse. Then there are some points that are good and I enjoy and make me love life at the moment but they are never enough to compare to the bad. I try to see the good in my life but it’s hard, I’ve attempted 3 times and thought about it more times than I can count. I’m afraid to tell anyone because I was told I would be locked in a room if I ever did it or thought about it again. I never talk about my feelings and emotions and I don’t think it’s helping with it. I guess this is my way of showing my emotions instead of telling them out loud to people I know. I know I should tell someone about it but I just don’t have the courage to do it.

I just want to say... thank you. From the bottom of my heart. My mother suffers from severe depression for about 2 years now. It is so hard for her to deal with, but also for my father, brother and me... I thought this was going to be another video claiming you can simply cure depression by just changing your mindset. No: depression is a real disease. The mind is sick, just like your body gets sick. It is so heartbreaking to see your loved one suffer this much. You want to help, but you can't do shit about it. As someone living with depression, this video said it better than anything out there. It's not just feeling sad or down. It is the persistent tiredness and hopelessness. No matter what you do or how you try to fix it, it will always be a part of you. Just like the ending of the video where you see "depression" delivering the parcel. It keeps coming back and everyday is an internal battle that no one understands.
The best thing anyone can do about it is to seek help and support. Be it your friends, your parents, therapists, doctors or support group, just speak to anyone you can trust and you will find at least 1 person that understands you.

My best friend killed herself in January....this hits real deep when you experience suicide first hand.
I remember not wanting to die but just wanting to hit a sleep button. And there was this song in Spanish that describes the feeling perfectly it says "I want to sleep tired and never wake up" but after prayer 🙏 meditation, positive affirmations and listening to positive audios on a daily bases things have truly gotten better. I remember I would cry to GOD For help and guidance cause I didn't know what else to do. But thank GOD I am better now and praying for those who find themselves in that same place I was 🙏🙏
