Fun fact: Denzel Washington was supposed to play David Mills in Se7en but starred in this instead. It worked out perfectly, because Brad Pitt was perfects as Mills, and Denzel was perfect in this movie. My two favorite thrillers of that year.

I never liked se7en, still don't, and never will. It's over-rated, illogical, unrealistic, not the slightest bit believable or realistic, or at all interesting in any way, shape or form with the only decent thing about it being the acting which in no way rescues it since it's absolute crap that a lot of people love, and that baffles me. But Fallen is great, deserving much more praise.

This is the first film, that ever tried to show how energy moves from person to person. In the film, “ Fallen”, the story line presents the idea of a kind of traveling demonic possession. But the truth is, energy DOES transfer from person to person, without touch. It can happen through a look, a smell, a voice, a photo, a memory. Of course, it’s usually very short lasting, ~ But it happens all the time. I thought this film was brilliant in its attempt to try to show it ... through exaggeration & repeat lines from the song.. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

In 1998 Denzel Washington fought with the fallen angel Azazel.
In 1999 Arnold Schwarzenegger fought with the devil himself at the end of the year.

Arnold won and Denzel almost won the battle but lost the war.

Some would argue that Schwarzenegger is the devil himself. One thing's for sure:he can't act. His best performance was in the original Terminator movie, where he was supposed to behave and speak robotically. A lot of people say "How can you do The Terminator without Schwarzenegger?" but when they say that I shake my head. My question is--after the first one, how can you do The Terminator with him and have it turn out good? T2--so much egotistical posturing which isn't beneficial to that film. T3--ugh. Totally sucked. Reluctantly watched it. Then--my favorite Terminator film, Salvation. It was much better than most people thought it was. There are instances where people, particularly in large numbers, prefer crap over quality. That's the case here. They didn't like that Arnold wasn't in it. They didn't like the awesome ending with the cyborg's sacrifice and the hopeful outlook for the future. But I loved it--a wonderful setup for future films, and a rare, positive ending for a Terminator film. I know they originally planning a darker, crappier ending but this one was the right ending. Then--crapfest/Reboot/Arnold because audience/his fans. Yeah, thanks. Everything set up for by Salvation--ruined.

@@joelbaldwin4051 and I'll let u in on a fact since you think you know what your spewing on about, most people didn't care about Arnold not being in it, true fans hated the fact that the terminators threw Jon conner around multiple times instead killing/executing

I watched this movie when I was 11 in a big scary house with huge rooms all by myself whilst my friends mum was looking after me she went to bed
I don’t need to see it again put it that way
    I got the concept then
    At 31 now I know it’s real.
    Stay safe! God Bless!

This movie is known as "suspense thriller" by the MPAA. Movie critics as a "psychological thriller" What went unnoticed even by me at 20yo in 1998 was Denzel Washington's 1st and last Horror movie. Remember suspense thriller movies leans toward Horror genre, Crime genre, or Drama genre.
