Beauty of a buck Hal !! Just scored on mine here in NH this past Saturday , November 25th ,,(late afternoon).. All day hunt , finally ran him down off the mountain,, caught him sneaking across the bottoms ,,,, dragged out in the dark . A beauty of an 8 point , wide , good mass... Dressed out at 182.5 lbs.... Great memories and a full freezer for the winter ahead ... All the best to you and yours . And good luck to your grandson as well !!

Glad to see you tag a fine deer and now go enjoy some papa grandson time and keep the knowledge torch burning into the mind and passion of the future great trackers of the most intelligent, elusive and magnificent animal we know as the whitetail buck.

I dont think most hunters will understand how hars it is to track a buck in maine. Some of the hardest woods to walk in, and vast as hell, and the bucks travel so far. miles and miles in one day. Then The drag!! 😂 congrats Hal. youve taught me alot about tracking. I learned alot from the benoits, they were fmaily friends of my grandfathers. congrats!!

Congratulation on a beautiful Buck Hal, enjoy your videos in southern NH. So how much did it weigh 195? I got a small buck with muzzle loader and a nice doe with rifle so far for the freezer. Went out the next morning with Xbox where I shot the doe as there were 3 together. Ended up slipping on wet leaves on a ridge while dragging a big branch out of a shooting lane and broke my ankle at the fibula and tore some ligaments that caused my tibia to move forward. Just had surgery yesterday to put in a titanium plate and a bunch of screws too get everything back in alignment over my foot. In a soft cast for 2 weeks then hard cast for 4 weeks then an air cast. Hope to get out again before the end of archery Dec 15 with some help from friends to get me to one of there blinds. Never give up! …Alan from NH 🦌

Hello! My name is Billy Gregory, my father was in the marines with Hal! We’ve been trying to get in contact with you guys for a couple years now as my father and family still come to Maine only to hunt snowshoes with beagles now instead of deer! Would really like to get my dad and Hal back together again as I love hearing old stories of when my dad hunted deer in Maine and watching Hal be so successful tracking and harvesting bucks in Maine!

Have to be proficient with a map and compass, but OnX Hunt app makes things quick and easy. Deer must be weighed in in Maine so need to drag out (this was a 4 mile drag)
