I’m glad that I’m not the only one who thought that Lili’s extra costume from T6 was ill-fitting since she is 16. Would’ve made more sense for Anna to wear it, not Lili. I love her Tekken 5/6 Player 1 outfit as she wears jeans and the gloves looks nice. Gives early 2000s punk/pop diva energy. Her main outfit in Tekken 8 feels like an elevated version of her iconic outfit in Tekken 5/6. Kudos to the artist who designed it and I hope they get more opportunities like this in the future.❤ As a character and her role, Lili is my least favorite as I feel how she is written drags both her and Asuka down due to their really dumb rivalry with each other. For Asuka, it wastes the potential she has in the story due to her being related to Jun and Jin. For Lili, it just makes her look very petty and obnoxious.
Yeah, I never liked the dress outfit, Tbh. It’s funny you say that, ‘cause I think he designed Anna’s octopus outfit in Tag 2. … Yeah. Huh, never thought of that in regard to her layer 1 look. It does give off an early 2000s vibe now I look at it actually. I like it 😌 Her design in Tekken 8 is a nice call back to her earlier look, but it doesn’t stray from the design too much, which is why I like it very much. The detailing isn’t all over the place and it’s very consistent. I don’t mind Lili, but her character can be irksome. I don’t mind characters having rivals but it does get annoying when it becomes a one-trick-pony situation where they fight… just because and they don’t have any other motives or plot-lines going on. That’s where I feel Tekken needs to improve on. I haven’t played 8 yet, but I doubt they’ve realised how redundant that is 😭
I hope we'd get some Nina's or Yoshi's looks some time, because they got a HUGE AMOUNT of different and diverse attires (especially the poor Yoshi), i think.
Lili is a funny character for me because I admit that from a character perspective, she's not one of my personal favorites because I find her a bit obnoxious. However when it comes to character design, she's one of my most favorites in the game haha. The whole Lolita-inspired design philosophy of her overall aesthetic is just so up my alley as someone who loves Lolita fashion and the clothes are also so fun to re-color. It was nice to see someone break down her looks and share their thoughts on them. If I were to rank them myself from worst to best... 6. "Wedding Outfit" - My thoughts mirror yours though I'll admit that I forgot that Lili was 16 in that game but even before then, I just thought the outfit was just ugly. The lace detailing in the veil is beautifully done and I like the bell-bottom pant leg but overall the outfit as a whole is just unappealing and pandering in the most desperate way possible. And with the context that Lili is a 16 year old girl in the game, that just makes it all the more sleazy and gross. This look should've been given to Anna, it's right up her alley and while I'd still think it's ugly, at least it would be fitting on a more age-appropriate character. I do feel you though that personally, aside from Anna's (which really wasn't "new") and Asuka's (Even if it didn't really fit her character), I wasn't a fan of the special artist outfits neither, most of them were so overly designed that they looked absolutely tacky. 5. Tekken 8 3P - It's a very cute outfit for her and I agree that it does look like something she'd wear outside of her more Lolita-inspired get-ups. The highlight is definitely the fur trim, it's so haute-coutre and it really is showing that Anna isn't the only one who can pull off these kinds of looks lol. The color choice of white and black compliments Lili's features beautifully as well. My only critique is that I would've given her some Pointy-toed knee high boots. Don't get me wrong, the heels they went with are cute and do work with the look but I've always been partial to Lili wearing boots and I feel like the former would also look really good with this outfit. It's such a shame that we can't alter the outfit in customization by switching shoes because I would've liked to see how the "Nina Boots" would look with it. Anyway I know the outfit is pretty low on the list and again, I don't think it's a bad outfit at all. It's just that compared to some of her other looks, I found them a teensy bit more interesting lol. 4. Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection 1P - It's another look that I've loved so much. It's the fur-lined corset, it just looks so damn stylish and cool and it helps retain that "elegant" element that Lili is designed with and it just flows with this otherwise, more "street-style" type of outfit for her. The pants are also pretty cool as well. The only thing that sucks about this look is that when you would color it, you couldn't color all of it as I beleive some of the white bits were not able to be changed so it would throw off a lot of color switches but aside from that, a solid look. It is Lili's signature "Fighter" outfit, nuff said lol. 3. Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection 2P - It's a classic look and I've loved it for a long time. I just love the simplicity and though it's not a Lolita style, just inspired (the skirt is just way too short and lacks the "A" line shape), it still manages to look so regal and fitting of her character. A good middle-ground of making a fancy rococo outfit but modernizing it to where it can be "comfortable" (very loosely here lol) to fight in. And I agree, the Go-Go boots are awesome, a nice finishing touch to the look. 2. Tekken 8 1P - I think overall that this look is really beautiful and well done. I love all the detailing they put in the embroidery of the "vest" portion of the dress, it's definitely the thing that stands out the most (obviously lol) though I feel the outfit would still look good if they kept it full satiny white. as well The only thing I dislike about this outfit is the under shorts. It would've been nice if they had her wear bloomer-style shorts with a lace bottom instead They could've given her a mini pair of bloomer shorts like what they gave Amy from the Soul Calibur series in her Soul Calibur 4 outfit. I just feel that they would've complimented the outfit better, keeping that frilled look to it. Aside from that though, it's very nice look and a nice modernization of her classic T5 Dark Resurrection outfit. 1. Tekken 7 Outfit - I really love this outfit because it's the closest Lili ever got to wearing a full-on Lolita outfit. I love the ruffled everything, especially the sleeves and I love her boots. The outfit is so fun to color as well, I did this awesome "classic gothic lolita" black/white color palette in T8 and it looks absolutely gorgeous imo. My only criticism with it is that I don't really like the neck-garment. The long stringy ribbon just looks a bit tacky and if it were me, I would've just given her a lace neck mantle with a rose centerpiece with shortened side robbons, similar to that of previously mentioned character Amy from the Soul Calibur games with what she wore in her Soul Calibur 4 outfit. That nitpick aside, it's definitely my most favorite of her looks to date.

Despite the one look I disliked, Overall I like that her fashion is based on Lolita fashion, but it’s a more simpler, refined take on it. Generally Lolita fashion has quite a bit of layers and frills since it’s based on 16th-early 20th century European fashions. I like her main T5 look and her main T8 design look feels like a more definitive design. It’s great!

My Top 3: 1) 6:11 When it first came out I don't like it because the lower part doesn't look proportional, but it grew on me really well. Her best ever. 2) 2:35 This is the first ever outfit I saw when I discovered her and she's love at first sight with that fit, so that's plus points. 3) 4:18 I also don't like this fit at first when I was a kid because I feel like it's boyish for her, but now my fashion sense broaden I guess, so I see it now as her coolest fit ever. Unfortunately it's not on T8.

However, the black-and-white Tekken 8 costume does not appeal to me that much, and it bothers me that, in Lili's idle position, the hair goes straight through the feathers!¡ Like, I can expect some hair/clothes clipping in movement, but why make a default stance result in this graphical eyesore?? I guess I would put her original white frilly dress at number 2. It's iconic, with all it's elegant frills and lace, as well as cool fingerless gloves and long boots.

I think her best look is definitely her trademark 2P white dress, it's elegant, relatively practical and I like how simple yet still elaborate it is. Her new Tekken 8 dress is my 2nd favorite since I love added pink and how still elegant and frilly the dress is, but it's still practical with the shorts and the boots and the shorter sleeves are really good. I know it's not as popular, but her original T5/T6 default is another notable one I like since it fits tomboy meets rebellious part of her persona, and the grey imo suits her good, I think the jeans, the fur and asymmetric arm accessories and the sneakers are the best highlights. Her T7 dress imo is my least favorite since idk... the frilly sleeves and lace just seem a bit much, it doesn't have the balanced fighting design like her T8 one, it seems better on paper than in motion. Her new T8 alternative dress is perfect, I just wish the feathers were subdued since I dislike how it automatically clips into her hair.

All of her designs I like I just never liked the way her hair is animated in Tekken 7, it looked like paper ribbons. As beautiful as the detailing of Lili's TK8 dress is, my only nitpick is wanting her sleeves longer as I feel like it would go better with her hand movements.

I agree with you 100% on the tekken 6 Lili outfit at the start. I never saw Lili as the hypersexualied female character archetype and especially not for a teenager. I like her for her elegant moves and fanciness/superiority in her attitude. There's much better characters to play a sexy female baddass role in Tekken imo like Anna or something.

I coulda sworn I saw something once that lili was 21 or something in Tekken 7 but from what I can find in Tekken 6 onward she might be 17? Like imo she looks my age cause I'm like 24 I feel like the lore and visuals have a disconnect, cause Harada the creator of her was reading the lore and saying "baka" about her apparent age. I'm an Asuka main but I just adore Lili's new costume. It's got all of my favourite fashion things in one - frills, modesty and pink!

I agree with you 100% on the tekken 6 Lili outfit at the start. I never saw Lili as the hypersexualied female character archetype and especially not for a teenager. I like her for her elegant moves and fanciness/superiority in her attitude. There's much better characters to play a sexy female baddass role in Tekken imo like Anna or something.

I coulda sworn I saw something once that lili was 21 or something in Tekken 7 but from what I can find in Tekken 6 onward she might be 17? Like imo she looks my age cause I'm like 24 I feel like the lore and visuals have a disconnect, cause Harada the creator of her was reading the lore and saying "baka" about her apparent age. I'm just concerned how this even happened where from 6-8 even with spin offs only a year goes by. If anyone has better timeline information I'd like to know because idk shit about the lore

The spinoffs don’t count. But canonically…
- There’s a 19 year time skip between Tekken 2 and 3.
- Tekken 4 happened 2 years after Tekken 3.
- Then, between Tekken 4 to Tekken 5, there was a 4/6 month gap.
- Tekken 6’s events happened shortly after 7.
- After Tekken 7, there’s a 6 month gap. Now, we’re on the eighth Tekken.
Despite all this: after Tekken 4, all characters had an age freeze. It’s only in Tekken 8 that the characters aged… by 1 year.
Lili is now 17. So, for most of the games (from Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection to Tekken 7), she was 16.

I thought i was the only who thought the wedding outfit was very strange for a 16 year old. I don't think it's an bad looking outfit but definitely revealing for a minor. But some tekken fans get real mad when you bring up she's a minor so i never say anything. 💀
