Holy Crap! An actually level-headed, reasonable assessment of the current state of the Buffalo Bills. That is an extraordinarily rare thing, trust me. You are spot on about Diggs and Davis. Full stop. Diggs was almost invisible down the stretch and Gabe (I love the man) was never a legit #2 and brought his stone hands in at the worst possible times.
You are also dead on about the defense. Hyde (again, will always love him) was not Micah last season. Poyer had his worst season as a Bill, although, admittedly, he was playing out of position. And Tre White played like 8 games over the last 3 seasons.
Concerning Kincaid, he blossomed once Joe Brady took over as OC. If Brady had been there from week 1, we might be talking about who was better between him and LaPorta.
The only think I disagree with is Terrel Bernard being a good player. He was a DAWG last season and a total revelation.
Great job, you just got a sub. Looking forward to watching more of your stuff.

Good break down. People seeing a decline aren’t thinking it through. All your points were spot on.
Torrence, Cook, Shakir, Bernard, Benford, Rousseau, Oliver, Kincaid are all pups still and were a large reason for the success last year.
Loved the draft , this is a much deeper and younger/ faster team. Offense is much more physical too. All the big names were part of the stagnation not the cause of success late. Floyd hurt though.
If Milano and Von can play well, watch out. Most excited I’ve been for their defense. Hopefully Douglas can continue his stellar play.

Overall I agree with you. But anything can happen and they have a lot of new pieces. I thought the 2023 season couldn't be worse than the 2022 season on the injury front and it was arguably worse. At least in terms of the impact of the injuries. Von Miller, maybe, can't be worse. My big thing is having players that can stay healthy.
I'm very excited about our coaching. I think Joe Brady is going to make some amazing changes with the entire off season to plan. A part of me almost wishes he's not too good because I'd like the Bills to have a consistent OC for a good 5-10 years. We'll see how it pans out but he really turned the thing around in most regards last season. I think Digg's low numbers are partially attributed to how Brady had to pivot, and I feel it wasn't necessary aimed at getting digs less touches, but inadvertantly did. That being said, Digg's blew a decent amount of chances and I'm happy they've moved on.
I've heard rummblings of a Khalil Shakir injury. It's been a few days and haven't had a chance to follow up on that, but I'd be pretty heartbroken if he's out this season. I think he's going to be a star, along with Kincaid, given time and health.

Well said. I think everyone believes the Bills are going to take a step back expect Bills fans. As far as the offense goes definitely a 'whole is greater than the sum of its parts' situation. Allen, Cook, Coleman, Samuel, Shakir, Kincaid, Knox and MVS is a deadly versatile sleeper group (and nobody should be sleeping on Mack Hollins and a starving Chase Claypool as depth pieces). Yes Diggs is an incredibly talented guy that can't be replaced 1 for 1 but now Allen can be freed from the stifling preoccupation with keeping Diggs happy. Oh and Joe Brady is gonna be schemin and free to push all the right buttons to get the most out of this group.

I believe the Bills are one of those teams who perform better being the team no one expects to do well. They obviously are a good team and they OBVIOUSLY have to get over the hump known as the KC Chiefs though ...... and that's JUST in the AFC. I think they are more comfortable NOT being the team everyone thinks is the one to beat. I think they'll be even better in the next year or two. What I think some people are missing is the two tight ends they have and oh, James Cook. James Cook and the dude they drafted to be his back up are going to take a lot of pressure off of Allen and also open up more weapons for him. They will be a different looking, but still very good and explosive team. We shall see.

Lots of potential in this ‘24 Bills team. Kincaid’s development could end up catching fire this season, which would open up opportunities for other receivers, not to mention Cook’s passing game abilities.
The defense has younger pieces with less experience, however, that is Sean McDermott’s speciality. I’m fully expecting this defense to be dangerous by week 8 or so.
All the pieces have to jel, so I’m giving a cushion of ~8-10 weeks to really get everything to click nicely.
Having Josh Allen makes all of this easier to handle because Allen’s a top tier playmaker and competitor and leader.
While I believe the Chiefs ultimately will win a third straight Super Bowl, I also believe that this Bills team has the pieces and the potential to go the distance if they stay healthy into the postseason.

I was saying before Claypool started showing flashes, that this year could actually be Josh's best. I think this was right after we signed MVS. I was like "damn, I don't think he's EVER had this much legitimate blend of size/speed/talent in the WR room. Honestly. He could do some huge things this year if even just a few guys step up to the challenge. And I think Samuel, Shakir, and Mack Hollins will all be day 1 reliable targets, with Keon and MVS and Claypool as auxilliary pieces who just might surprise a few people, lol. Kincaid, Knox, Cook, and Ray Davis as well.... I bet Josh is a happy Josh this year. And he knows next year will be even bigger. Good stuff!

I agree Mitch, the Jets are going to have to be A+ all year long in order to catch the Bills. Dolphins are going to Dolphins, no disrespect to them. Good team, not great. New England is in total rebuilding mode. As a Washington fan, who wanted Drake Maye, they’re likely in the same boat. 5 wins to 7 wins top. Even if Washington and New England switched quarterback it would not make much difference. If everything goes to plan, both will see playoff runs in two years. My prediction
    Bills 10 to 11 wins
    Dolphins 8 to 10 wins
    Jets 8 to 9 wins
New England 5 to 7 wins
    Lowest to highest expectations.

The Bills have transformed their offense. New offensive coordinator, new WRs, a second year tight end who is ascending and a running game that may have the most dynamic one, two punch in the NFL. Oh, and Josh Allen is the guy running the show. The offense will be fine.
The defense is also under construction. A new defensive coordinator, new safeties and risk on the edges. Von Miller is being counted on to be productive after his injury and a less than inspiring performance in 2023.
2024 is a transition year for Buffalo. Deliberately getting rid of Diggs, Poyer, Morse, Hyde, Floyd, Neal, Tre White and Gabe Davis is admission that the Bills needed a different approach to getting past KC.
    Will it work?
Who knows. But you have to give credit to Brandon Beane for not sitting on his hands hoping. My biggest question remains with Sean McDermott. Is he capable of making critical decisions under duress or will he be remembered as Marty Shottenheimer 2.0

They deserve to be, they lost that game against the Chiefs with 18 seconds left, the got destroyed by the Bengals, and Angie to the Chiefs last year, lol, and wasn’t it last year that all of the sports media world disrespected the defending SB champs the Chiefs by having them as an underdog in every playoff game except for the fins, and you think the Bills who have done nothing are disrespected, you’re a moe-ron, lol

With no ball hog on the team …. And no pressure to force feed a player … Will Allen have the mental ability to read the D and hit the open Receiver …. They will be top NFL offense , if so
… is Allen smart enough?, that’s my concern …

As a Tom Brady fan, this guy's views on the Bills have just "that much" extra credibility. Lol. He knows the pain, he knows our team, heck, his team delivered most of the pain!!! Hahaaaaaa.....awwwww. 😢 That said, idrc what people will say, true Bills fans follow the team closely, and know that this iteration is well capable of some amazing things. If the chemistry develops, look out! That said, disrespect is practically a part-and-parcel of being an NFL fan, so have at it, lol

JA is not Patty Mahomes, zero chance ... Allen is not auto wins, buddy is a high redzone tunover machine, likely to be injured this year and we can stop hearing how good he is when he has won absolutely nothing of value, but he has sold alot of tickets on a dead franchise ... your high AF

Quite frankly, the whole franchise just pisses me off. The new stadium is a total abortion with 10,000 less seats and looks more like it was designed for the Raiders, Seahawks, Lions or New Jersey Generals. Then there's the disastrous, underperforming, money pit referred to as Von Miller and don't even get me started on Mr. Clutch, Tyler Bass. Actually, I think Tyler will single handedly loose four games for the Bills in 2024. I think this years will be wrought with interceptions and fumbles by the offense and the Defensive secondary will be about as useless and the U.S.-Mexican Border. Come Wildcard weekend, these Bills will be watching from home, as they finish 8-9-0.

The only thing that should stop the Bills this year is McDermott calling a bad defense in the playoffs, like we’ve seen in the past. Let’s hope he has finally learned his lesson and grows a pair when the playoffs come around!
