I wasn't even aware that Jarmusch knew Takemitsu, let alone had him write a score for one of his films. Thanks a lot for this. I also feel a bit better now, because I ordered a statue from a sculptor to be used in a short film, but I had to reject her final work.
You're amazing, Thomas! And your voice is mesmerizing. How do you do your research or do you just know this stuff intuitively? Just between you and me, I'll tell no one. I so enjoy your work.
one of greatest japanese composers wrote music for american director and it sounds like french film music. idk the movie but i guess the deep tenderness was simply too much for america.
I agree with you 100%. It is disappointing and hard to comprehend. Tom Waits instead of Toru Takemitsu Apparently Jim Jarmusch can't hear the depth of Toru Takemitsu.
@@deetdeet7 idk Jarmush neither Waits well tbh so i dont wanna judge... maybe they have their own depth... but for sure Takemitsu's compositions dont sound american at all...
In case someone didn’t know, Takemitsu had later used the melody in his later work Family Tree (last movement)
Life is a melody that makes you feel beautiful. Thank you for meeting takemitsu's music.
I just tried to watch the film with this music. It changes the vibe completley. This is beatiful. But i understand why Jarmush used Tom Waits.

Atrapado en la nostalgia

Thanks a lot for this! Would you please please upload it to a music streaming service?
Its on one right now.
@@jeffreycollins7297on which one? I've been trying to find this recording anywhere for 4 years already
You can find the very first theme on sax in family Tree !!
Lovely theme.
Very interesting. Takemitsu meets 1980's Howard Shore.
💐🙏... .
It is the Bolero of Takemitsu.
💚🎵😔
Extraña pieza musical. No me encantó pero tampoco me desagradó.
