    James, Awesome job. Would love to hear you explain how you see Chase on a KTM next year, how Chase is on bike set-up working with him. One would think he has people behind him that can fix the issues you are talking about? Jett is consistent, building confidence, and presumably going to get a bit better to say the least for the up coming years. We dont see anyone changing their riding to be able to rise up to catch Jett, do you? Everyone have a great day!!

      I’m personally looking forward to RJ moving up to 450. Imo I feel like he’s trying to ride the 250 too hard kinda and that’s what leads to a lot of his downfalls. I think when he gets to 450s as long as he gets better starts he will do real good. Mostly because the 450 has enough power that he won’t have to worry about riding it so hard therefor he will be able focus on his style and technique more

    Your right on about Sextons bike setup, i have been watching it lately and its like his whole bike is a seesaw, bouncing up and down as a whole, instead of the suspension working to keep the bike stable, didn't know it was a rebound issue, but know i do

    Hey James,thanks for talking about Sextons suspension today. All of his crashes this season have been the front end washing out and I don't believe it's the rider. I also believe that the Star Yamaha team has changed Hadens suspension the last couple races because you can see him fighting the bike the entire race and not be able to flow like the racer he is. Good to see you back and enjoying the sport again!

    • @zanerollins3394
      @zanerollins3394 Год назад +1

      Not even just this season. You can go all the way back to last year outdoors and 90% of chase’s crashes are from the front end tucking. While I agree that a lot of it might be the bike, I also think a big part of it is his riding style. Imo it seems like chase is either going all or nothing. If he could just smooth it out a little bit I think it would improve that situation a lot. Instead of pushing into the corner super hard and then banging out of the corner all out, he should come into the corner maybe a little softer which will allow him to flow through it a little smoother continuously rolling on the throttle to where by the time he’s exiting he’s still all out but having a smoother transition getting to that “all out” because he will be carrying more momentum all the way through the corner.
      I prolly made that sound confusing af but in my head it made sense lol I hate saying “just watch out Jett does it” but he’s a perfect example of how to carry smooth corner speed. And I think that’s where Jett always beats chase. Is chase can smooth out that corner speed then he can beat Jett no question

      I think Chase's Honda suspension woes go back much farther. I still Blame Honda Suspension for Kenny's career.
      They had to send Brayton's Aussie SX Winning forks directly to Kenny's triple clamps before he won again.
      I love Hondas, but I hope Chase will take to KTM like Ryan Dungey did--and I'm rooting ET3 forever.

      Jett is generational. He’s a Stewart/Ricky level talent. As a talent alone he’s above even RV and Dungey. But currently Jett is benefiting from not only being the young new thing, all the confidence in the world, and evidently ahead of his time, but also has the best bike in the class as of now. I believe Chase has every bit of enough speed to challenge Jett lap for lap. Jett will certainly win many championships over his career, but I believe he will be challenged in the following years, by guys like Chase, by Haiden eventually. I think this is the best spot the sports been in for a long time in terms of the talent coming through. We needed these generational talents to revive the sport.

    Haiden is solid, but i believe he came in at 100% compared to Rj, Jo, Levi, and Justin, Haiden has a solid mentality, the others seem to rely on confidence to really step up race over race.
    i think what were seeing in Haiden is not so much a bad weekend, but the actual competition in that class, its stacked and Haidens biggest friend is definitely his mental and consistency.
    We can about guarantee Jo, Rj, Justin, Levi and others are going to be more inconsistent even though they are definitely faster overall, but not consistent.

    Curious on how you think its bike setup compared to technique and simply being a tad bit slower. Regarding chase's bike being better for downhill, do you think it could be that Jett just isn't pushing as hard down the hill cause he doesn't need to. Is Jett just smoother and able to keep his bike on the ground over the rollers / bumps? Can Jett just take turns better? I know little things can make a world of difference on a bike, but I am not so sure Jett is simply better overall. Even the starts. Like Jett is just better.

This kid is so far beyond where you would expect a 19 year old to be. He looks like the veteran out there managing Chase like he's the young upstart. Him winning is starting to seem inevitable and the competition looks like they can feel it. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he wins the three "playoff" rounds just as comfortably, then puts on a clinic in sx next year. He's been better indoors on the 250 and his style on the 450 seems like it will be next to impossible to beat indoors.

    When(if) Jett gets beat, i think the monkey is off his back and will truly unleash him. I think he’s focused on being perfect, but if there’s nothing to be perfect for it’ll just be a win at all cost type jett like we saw in the 250’s

    • @seanhaberman4619
      @seanhaberman4619 Год назад +4

      It looked closer than it was. Chase never made a pass attempt and Jett looked a lot more in control at that pace than he did. The first lap and a half after Chase caught him in moto 1 was his best chance to get by. After that Jett settled down and looked like he was holding him off pretty comfortably.
      Even if Chase held on to his start in moto 2 I don't see a scenario where he could have held him off. Jett could either pressure him into a mistake or just straight up go around him as the track got rougher. Jett looked like he could put the bike almost anywhere on the track and still go fast. Chase on the other hand was trying to hit his marks and not make a mistake.
      Chase is pretty close to Jett in outright speed, but there's more to winning than being able to go fast. Jett has him beat by a lot when it comes to bike control, line selection, and mental focus. If Chase starts maybe 6-8 positions ahead of Jett and builds a 12 second lead in the first 3 laps I think he can hold him off. Otherwise I don't see it happening. Jett has Chase covered right now and it's pretty easy to see.

    If a rider gets out of shape and hits that they will be dead on the spot. Dozers do not move or give an inch.

    Hunter trains with the top 450 guys every single day, hes older than then too. Why hes on 250 is still baffling, hes sand bagging, his top competition is a 17 year old rookie. Sorry not sorry hes not impressive. Hes not where he belong.

      You sound new to the sport. Hunter didn't come here until he was like 19 and then had 3 years of health issues. He almost retired a couple years back because he didn't think he would ever be able to get back to being healthy. So this is like his 2nd year of being in a position to actually compete for a title.
      This happens all the time and it's why there's so many older guys on 250s. There's been dozens of talented young guys who come in, look amazing, and get hurt or something right off the bat. Then they rush coming back because they feel like they can't spend too much time away and they just keep getting hurt. And since they can't finish a season they don't win titles like they could have and never get a 450 ride. Austin Forkner and Jeremy Martin are prime examples of guys who could have been the next big thing if their luck had been a bit better.
      The 250 class isn't a semi pro league like other sports have. It's professional racing. In any professional sport, or job in general, there's no age groups. You compete against whoever shows up. All these guys are trying to do the same thing regardless of age, earn a spot in the premiere class. The guys who are a little older now dealt with the same thing today's rookies are dealing with. That's just how it's always been, and why it's so special when a rookie shows up a dominates. Guys like Ryan Villopoto, James Stewart, and Eli Tomac all came in as teens and beat grown ass men. It's no different for today's kids.

      @@seanhaberman4619 The main difference is we used to have 3 classes, 125, 250, 500. Now we have 250 and 450. Maybe we need a 350 in between the two. It would be a good separation and would give more spots for factories as well as creating a new niche for 350 bike sales. More people equals more interest.

    James, I have watched your video and Ricky's video in regard to the stress and strain of being a motocross racer. Because the sport is so difficult - and dangerous - do you feel you would risked your well being SO MANY TIMES if your family's (the entire Stewart clan) prosperity did not rely so heavily on your success?
