Just cuse he didnt have a huge onscreen romance doesnt mean he was incapable of it, maybe he just wasnt interested which is a path many people take or maybe there was no one interesting around considering how rare ppl on his social standing are in the series. I think can he love just as well as any other if anyone is interested in breaking thru his layers.

But I also think he was prideful, he hardly thought of humans as equals.. although I can't blame him, he will probably outlive any human his life intertwines with, so I think he's repressing his love and kindness, so he doesn't get hurt in loving humans that will die much much before him. Just my guess though.

Sesshomaru was hoping to defeat him I guess in a rightful duel someday and instead, Toga died for his human love interest, Izayoui & Inuyasha. Sesshomaru thinks his father's death was a miserable, unhonorable one & even has blamed Inuyasha & his mom for that happening when Toga choose to die for them. Also the fact that Sess' father would dare cheat on his full demon mother with a mere human & father a half-demon disgusted him. I think Sesshomaru uses that personal betrayal as fuel for his hatred, supreme powers & demonic energy. So that is why until he met Rin, Sesshomaru loathed humans and half-demons alike. It's a wonderful healing & hopefully romantic relationship between SessRin, if Yashahime doesn't fuck it up, which they might he coming for Sesshomaru's character assassination.
Won't ever force himself on her, but since she has what some rightfully call "a serious case of hero worship", it's 50/50 whether she'll grow up to see him as this awesome father figure, or as a romantic interest. Either way he loves her, and always will. And I think the day she dies for real he'll finally cry.
Nope, it seems like Sesshomaru will never let Rin go and die, as we believe atm from Yashahime that an older version of herself is stuck in the tree of ages, possibly when giving birth to their twins. He would move Heaven and Earth for her. I like this ideal from him. And finally also someone that doesn't kill themselves either when the love of their life dies, like in most animes. He is beneath such a frivolous idea. I hope Sesshomaru figures out how to save her. These two need a happy ending, even though we are robbed of those scenes from the Final Act or at least when they started Yashahime.

He has shown compassion and platonic love for others plenty of times before in the series (Rin, Kagome, his brother, etc.). The only kind of feeling he's never shown for anyone else in the series before is the romantic kind. The only kind of feeling his heart was "lacking" in is the romantic kind.
I dont think he is asexual. If you look at his characterization he seemed to be nearly without emotion and wrapped up in his own stuff at the beginning but by the end he was clearly showing emotion. He shows brotherly love, respect, affection for underlings, and even sympathy for Kagura. He seems to have all the same emotions as everyone, he just is solidly stoic in his expressions. If he is capable of every other kind of emotion, love/lust is just as likely as any other.
This video was beautifully made, I love how with Rin, Sesshomaru underwent a lot of subtle changes that resulted in his growth of character. He's shown as a stoic, unflappable demon lord however with Rin as his pup he slowly becomes like a father to her and protects her. In doing so, his emotions resurface and with Rin I think he has a chance to experience true happiness for once.
Sirenix Prime I don’t see a teenage demon recently out of childhood himself as a father figure but it is open to interpretation in the manga/anime so one can think of it that way. What is definitive to their romantic relationship though is Sesshomaru’s message to Rin in the Drama CD, but not everyone accepts that, which is fine. But Rin/Sess people shouldn’t be bullied and harassed and slandered just for their preference especially when there is reasonable evidence. I mean this is all for fun, right? Whatever you prefer, whoever you ship, even the crazy Sess/Kagome shippers lol, let’s just escape our dreary existences for a few moments and have fun in feudal Japan.

Because it would probably be another nearly 200 episode long anime. Which, considering it's Inuyasha...not sure very many people would complain too much. The only negative thing I have against Inuyasha is that it feels like it drags out a lot.
Age is barely an issue to begin with, but once you reach the point where you can live for centuries, who isnt super young next to you. As long as Sesshomaru allows her to have her childhood and grow into a woman who makes her own choices before any romance, I see no trouble with them dating. He can show her off his hot young girl to Inuyasha who will still look young but have a older wife. Then after Kagome and Rin die of old age, Sesshomaru's hanyou babies rule the world. True story!
