My dad never had the luxury to have the unique in car cams at all times with his cable/satellite provider. I always saw ads for this option during NASCAR races. Good stuff.
@firethestooges48Some of the sound change is attributed to the type of exhaust they are using. The x pipe and y pipe went away. Listen to the IROC pontiacs that only made 450hp. They sound great.
Man I always loved doing the on board feature whenever they were at the non restrictor plate big cookie cutter tracks like Michigan, Fontana, Kansas and other tracks like Brickyard, Atlanta, Texas, Lowes motor speedway, just to hear the RPMs especially from the DEI cars, they always had a higher, pitch. For the superspeedways it was them Hendrick boys because they didn't run x pipes like everyone else did.
Those engines sounded so good back then.
Agreed. It puts today’s powertrains to shame.
X-pipe exhaust
Nothing better than the sound of a high-revving engine. I'm still in awe of these OHV racing engines that survive in the 9000+ range.

God DAMN, those cars sounded so much better than what we have now. The nostalgia!
great video..showing mph, rpm, the best way to show us fans exactly what is NASCAR
Back then when the cars sounded so good and high pitched and now they don’t
@xCallMeDJ thank you brian France, I'm growing up with this 2019 crap!
We NASCAR fans have it easy, F1 fans have to deal with V6 Hybrid engines, we should be happy we still have V8.
Just Dump The 550 HP Crap Put The Horsepower back in

good stuff, its from 2004 for sure btw
It didn’t make sense to me why Jr. would start running the high side on the Turns when he was gaining spots and running great on the Bottom.
could’ve been a photo finish had that caution not flown
