    New subscriber here: I've got a SSB in timeout. You've convinced me it is worth doing, not monogamously, as is my wont, but a square at a time, while other projects also progress. Thanks! Yours is very pretty.

I've already made 2 quilt pillows of Laura's. Can't wait to watch your other videos as you did not annoy the crap out of me 🤣

    Thanks so much for this video. I started Sweet Shoppe last winter and put it aside after about 20 squares…partly to make some winter garments.
    QUESTION/REQUEST: Could you show us some of the more gnarly aspects of the top squares? My big problem has been running out of racetrack as I’m picking up stitches. Things are getting wonky/not square. (It’s been many months, so maybe I was having trouble picking up the correct amount of stitches with the left squares too.) Thanks!

    • @stitchesbeslippin
      @stitchesbeslippin  17 дней назад

      Hmmm... 🤔 I would say just always make sure you have the right number of stitches on each side of that middle pickup stitch. I would frequently be one stitch short when I got to that middle one so rather than going back to start again, I would just pick up another one in there before that middle one to get the right count. It doesn't have to be a full proper edge stitch, just pick up a strand or two in there somewhere and make it a stitch 🤣

    Thank you for all the info! I have decided to knit the Sweet Shop Blanket after spending too many hours looking at many options, and your blog caught my eye. I am a quilter too so this blanket really appeals to me. I got a 2024 advent that is non screaming Christmas yarns. It’s more of a Scandi, woodland color range which I love. I did earmark the advent for a large blanket project. I will add various more yarns from stash sock leftovers. I am stuck on which yarn for the neutral but I’m sure I will make that decision soon. Thanks again for all the tips. I subscribed to follow you too!

    Thanks for a great video which could be named "everything you wanted to know about Sweet Shop but were afraid to ask." 😁 Your Sweet Shop Blanket looks amazing! ❤
    I loved the info on all the stats about how much the "labour" cost would be and if you add on the yarn cost as well, it's not the cheapest kid on the block BUT, the overall value (imo) is PRICELESS. It might be a good idea to get a rider attached to your house insurance to show this very precious item. 😍
    I recall you mentioned the JOY ... yes, the JOY!
    FYI the Blanket Club for 2025 is only 8 x 10g minis each month.

    Thanks for this video!!! I had started this blanket for my 8 year old granddaughter who is also a knitter and understands (to the level she can at the moment) the value of the blanket! That being said, I stopped after a row and a half because I'm not sure now!!! Without being able to wash it.. ugh.... 1) Do you never plan to wash your blanket? 2) Do you have any suggestions for tightening up the center holes. In this video you said to not worry about it, but ALSO! Love your ends jar! What a fun idea! I think I might try this for a Journey Jar this year! I agree this blanket is SO FUN to knit! So fun, in fact, that this year I plan to work on both it and a Stella Quilt at the same time using similar yarns as I go!! A row of the Sweet Shop and a motif of Stella Quilt to end up with two very different yet similar blankets at the end of the time!

    • @stitchesbeslippin
      @stitchesbeslippin  29 дней назад

      That sounds like an amazing plan!! As for the center holes, I would just sew them closed when I would weave in my ends. Enjoy your blanket knitting!

      The black stripe in the progress pride flag represents the black queer community, as well as those living with or lost to AIDS. I can only assume that you are trying to spread some conspiracy theory and if so, this is not the space for you.

    Thanks for the tips and tricks. I’m halfway done with one. Did you use the number of stitches for each square that is recommended in the pattern? Or did you change the size of your square to meet the fingering held double yardage?

    We listen and we don't judge. It is a beautiful blanket. And if you love it, loved making it, and have the budget, then it is worth the time and money. I wouldn't let my kids even use it. Kids are smelly. Especially preteens. They have some sort of funk. Eww.
