If anything, the Mind Transfer would be Yin Release. Sakura describes it as the user sending their mind in the form of spiritual energy towards the opponent. There is a clear relation between physical x spiritual energy and Yang x Yin Release. And the Mind Transfer Jutsu isn't far from a Genjutsu in concept.
I don't think the "shadow" in the Shadow Clone Jutsu refers to its source, rather it serves to distinguish it from the regular Cloning Jutsu. The regular clones have no substance and cast no shadows, while the shadow clones have substance and cast shadows. When Sakura first sees Naruto using it against Kakashi in the bell test, she watches as the clones exit the water and cast shadows on the ground, remarking that they're not mere illusions, Naruto's clones are "real". Besides, shadow manipulation would fall under Yin Release. But I like the idea of one jutsu being Yin Release and the other Yang Release, and that explaining why Naruto had much more affinity specifically with the Shadow Clones.
@@giannixx it's just a theory lol. The shadow being the source is mostly just cause of the "shadow splitting" name shadow clone also has. Which kinda implies the shadow is used as a source.
